Players that started like a house on fire and you was sure they would be superstars that unfortunately didn’t live up to that.

Jaeger O'Meara comes to mind.

Adam Cooney as well, despite being a brownlow medalist at just 22, he was never the same player after the knee injury (from memory he and O'Meara had the same or similar injuries?)

Think this is it's own category, both clearly had the talent but injury meant it was curtailed by degenerative knee injuries that never went away.

Someone like Stephenson had no real injury issues, was just a bust after looking good early. Basically hit his ceiling immediately and regressed from there.

Ah yep, that's fair.
 
Rich? He was quite good, spent most of his career copping a forward tag because he was so damaging by foot.

Still obviously a great career overall but I thought he would become a superstar of the competition after his Rising Star year.
