I have a feeling he could be given a rest in the Bullants this week, he did some good things last night with goal assists, but he started on the bench and spent the 1st qtr on the pine.

However, I really hope Pagan plays him in the seniors this week as he has a load of pace (he chased and put pressure on a few Brisbane blokes last night), Bulldogs show a fair amount of pace. Plus, there is a week off the week later to give his body a break.

Guessing Pagan though, Eddie will be dropped.

Eddie is a player I believe we need to give plently of ground time to for the rest of the season. He is very passionate about his footy and this is a quality we badly need. Perhaps he could be used in the old style as a rover alternating to the forward pocket. It is silly I believe to have him sitting on the bench given that he has the rare ability to steal a goal.

I too like the idea of Eddie in the midfield. He's got a lot of skill and pace. Given time, he could be our Daniel Wells.

^^^ call.

The smallest bloke in our team yet one of the only ones who can make a tackle stick. Have a look campo, stevens, and co.

The obvious thing to do is stick Whitnall at full forward and leave him ther the whole game, have Fev at centre half forward as he likes the space and has a booming kick. Then you would play Betts off Whitnall and Eddie could then be a goal sneak picking up the crumbs and goaling. I know many will say we need Whitnall down back. Not so, have Prender play that role, Lance is too valuable at full forward. In my mind he should never move from there, his siz and footy brain would bring goals to those around him.
As for who should go at seasons end, here is my two cents worth:
Johnston-He does OK, but we need to get good young kids in there now.
Davies-I know he is still young, but he has had only one great quarter of footy that I have seen vs Woods last season.
Bowyer-Sad to say as he really tries hard, but we need to open up space for kids to re-build properly next season.
Houlihan-Should be good trade bait and we could swap him for a decent sized backman.
Clarke-Had his chance, once again we need the room for new kids.
Morrell-See above.
Hopefully we can get a couple of backs in, then play Teague in the middle instead of back where his approach would be beneficila in winning a few balls in midfield.
PAGAN-Know he just re-signed, but he has been overshadowed in the coaching stakes by Wallace and Clarkson, we should have gne all the way and picked up a good young coach, maybe even approached Harvey of Essendon for the job. Too late now, but it looks ominous that Pagan does not seem to be able to lift the players when needed as after his huddles we go out and still get flooged in the games.
All in all I hope the Blues do some very good recruiting in years end, and maybe go for the likes of Brogan and Wirrpunda if they are available, and when getting kids blood them sooner rather than later. The record of doing this for Dogs, Tigers and Hawks shows playing the kids can work, leaving them in the VFL too long dulls them a bit and hurts thier morale.
The wooden spoon seems ours, just hope we do get tall, tough players and play those we have got properly (Whitnall NEEDS to stay full forward all game)
:(

Eddie need more assistance right now to build his confidence. When he's got crap like the 'over-the-hill' Campo doing nothing and losers like Davies and Sporn for crumbs, it makes it quite difficult as he's an opportunist.

Beside the Essendon and Hawks match he hasn't really done much to be honest, but has show more than say Davies ever could.
