Looking at the top nine teams, and taking out the top two teams who are unlikely to be affected, each time one of the remaining seven teams plays another, the matches are effectively eight point matches.

This week:
Melbourne v Sydney
Geelong v St Kilda

Next week:
Fremantle v St Kilda
Sydney v Geelong

Round 21
Geelong v Melbourne
Western Bulldogs v St Kilda

Round 22
Nil

We play 3 eight point matches in a row. A real test of our character.
If we win all three, we will have a good show at a top 4 finish, and getting another crack at Adelaide at AAMI.

Saints certainly have a tough run, but if we get into the top 4 we will be in great position to give September a real shake - given that we will have beaten most of our rivals in the run home. That's the best thing about our draw: we can shape our own destiny. The Freo game is great preparation for the finals. In short, we have to be good enough to beat quality sides on the road to have any chance of winning the flag. The Cats game is huge. If we win were back in the top 4, and it's curtains for the Cats. Its also highly likely we'll go to Subi 4 points clear of Freo. However, if we lose we're looking very shaky.

Lots of people are writing us off, but I think their seriously underestimating the character of the current St Kilda side. Kosi and the Clark bros comming back this week is a big bonus. Baker will be back next week and hopefully Hamil the week after. However, we can't afford any new injuires. Here's hoping Kosi isn't struck by lighting on the way to the Dome.
