I think the Crows could do worse than to draft Elijah Ware with a late pick in the draft (56).

He's real quick, I mean real quick.

Reminds me of Melbourne's Aaron Davey a bit. Slick and slippery.

What do yas think?

Like you said the Crows could do worse than Noodles.

Very quick & has great delivery my only query is his toughness, seems to receive the ball a lot & hang back & wait for someone to give it to him.

But could be worth a punt as a lively crumbing forward pocket/half forward flanker.

Eddie Sansbury got picked up last year & I reckon Noodles is better than him.
He regularly hits a leading forward on the chest without fail. Just lead & i reckon he'd find you.

I'd have him & Paul Thomas on my list before Gallagher, Skipworth, Shirley & Ladhams

Looks like another quality northern suburbs education wasted :D

I would be very happy to see the AFC draft him. Every time l have seen him play he has impressed, wouldn’t pick him up in the top 30 but at 56 most defiantly l would IMO

How old is he? Anyone know

These type of threads really peeve me off.
Not the people posting in them, but the nowadays misconception that someone who is 21 is too old.
Why has it become so when in years gone by, people would play heaps of games in the reserves before getting a go in the ones.
Michael Tuck anyone?
Had nobody drafted Davey for another two years, people would still be saying that his body is not up to AFL standard.
Will Hassan be any good? Who knows until he has been given a go.

wrt cutting it or not cutting it at AFL level, quite frankly nobody knows. Some players seem a million dollars at a lower level, yet when they step up a grade and their "advantages" are not so great anymore, be it height, higher than average skills, fitness or athleticism they fail to replicate their perceived form.
Others may not seem so great, yet when surrounded by better teammates can go up a notch.

Perhaps the AFL should introduce a clause whereby older players can be taken on shorter and cheaper contracts.

Never said he couldnt make it 21, but its a little less likely. Wheres he been for the past 3 years?

Wasn't talking about you or anyone else specifically. Not even about Ware himself.
It's just that nowadays that is the accepted belief.
A wrong belief IMO, but that is also the belief that the system is geared up for.
All kudos to Mark Williams and Co for recruiting Maloney last year.

Never thought i'd be agreeing with a port supporter :D

But your totally right PAfolwr. They way they're talking about 21 or 22 y.o's it's like their best is past them & they might as well be on the veterans list.

If a guy has talent & you think he can make a contribution to your team draft him no matter what the age.

But after watching these kids from the age of 13 or 14, once they are 22 or 23 surely would have seen then enough top know if they have talent or not.

And new kids to the sport who have talent will ultimately get picked up ala Dean Brogan

Body size and athleticism has a lot to do with players getting picked up or not.
A lot that slip through are in that in between physical size region. A lot of ex greats would not be picked up nowadays.

100% agree. Ware needs to put on some muscle and his hardness at the ball has improved during the year.

His main strenths are his pace, skills and his marking ability. At the very least, we should invite him to pre season training to test him out.

We'd be mad to not consider him. If I had to choose who to use pick #56 on out of Pearce or Ware I'd pick Ware. As quick and freaky as Pearce may be he is pretty small, even tho he is younger. Ware is a polished player, very quick with bullet disposal 90% of the time. Can shank it sometimes tho but kicks goals from the wing.

Prefer Thomas to him tho but would be happy with Ware.

Is better than Sansbury in the sense that he can play midfield more, but not as quick as Eddie. Not many are.
