The greatest team of all!
I was just hoping to get a bit of info on my favourite player outside of the Hawks. Hows he looking? I see he's been named this week but will he get a run? if so what position do you expect him to play?

Any info will be apprecited

Thanks

I think he was in the extended squad initially for the Richmond game.

There are 30 players listed for the Geelong game, with four to be cut.

Chivers, Steven and Connors would seem likely to be cut along with maybe Van Rheenan or a late withdrawal.

Supposedly Connors had a punctured lung in 2007 and missed a fair bit of footy, so you'd expect him to be a little behind. He's got dash which is what the club has craved, so hopefully we will see some good performances with Casey in '08.

Saw him train earlier this year, very impressive young bloke. Has extremely smooth movement (think Dal Santo), and excellent skills.

He will be something special, given a few years.

He was injured last week, so hopefully he will play if fully fit. Expect M. Gardiner to drop out late, and Chivers and Van Rheenen to play, with Rix and Van Rheenen as the ruck pair. I hope Eljay gets a game, but he will be a likely target for some of the bigger bodied geelong enforcers like Mooney.

No where near AFL ready imo.

MIGHT play 1 or 2 games this year if we get extensive injury worries.

In saying that, I like the look of him, hope he becomes a good player.

Out of curiousity, how did he attain that status? Is he from your area?

I haven't seen him yet, but I hope he justifies our faith in him. There was a great deal of surprise at our selecting him, especially considering the likes of Gourdis and Gaertner were still on the table.

Good call.

So how was his game on the weekend? Lookin at the stats he got a few touches, do anything special or any hint of this magic ability we all hope he holds?

Saved a certain cats goal I think in the third quarter through his chasing & defensive efforts. Spotted up a player with a decent kick not long after & looked to move really well. Definitely Dal Santo like with regards to style of movement. Needs 15kg of muscle on that stick frame though!
