Without speculating about our future trades and recruitments, take out the list of players above from our playing roster and consider whether we would successfully maintain a level of competitiveness whilst 'rebuilding' or whether the 'bottoming out' might see us dip to the 2004-05 days.

If all the players you've listed suddenly decide to take the season off to go wrestle grizzly bears in the most deserted corners of Finland*, we'd still have a team that would make the 8. When you consider that by 2013 we'd also have added several draftees, and several of the young players would have doubtless improved, I'd say any suggestion that we could bottom out is completely unfounded.

mate hes an AA premiership captain, and hes a gun when you consider where he came from. May not be a world beater but he is a great asset for our team as he tries his heart out and will bleed for the jumper. You would love him if he played for your team. Just like i hate selwood but if he played for the pies i would love him.

it worries me though if he has success with the pies, as to whether he will get any credit for it. Or will people just say it was all Malthouse's doing. I really hope that people will be able to see bucks as THE MAN rather than just covering for mick

Does it matter if he gets credit for it?!? People will love to come up with any excuse to diminish Collingwood success, but history will say he was the coach. I guess you can also say how much was the premiership last year won by Malthouse and how much was down to the players, recruiters, development staff, even Eddie? Which Collingwood supporter would care about people saying Buckley won a premiership because of Malthouse? None I'd think, they'd just be happy we won another flag and saying good job Bucks!
