PC Escape From Tarkov

A lot of high profile streamers (Lupo, D429 etc) have been playing Tarkov of late. Has anyone given it a go?

Seems like a preferable option to BRs, and I like that the servers reset every few months so the loot-gap isn't significant.

Have had the website for this open the past week trying to work out if it's something I'd be keen on. Definitely looks interesting.

Have you tried it yourself? My concern at the moment is apparently the Australian servers have been scaled back to only one (is that right?), meaning it would always be pretty populated? And do you only get to keep stuff if you successfully escape? I suck at BR games but I love the sound of the setting of this game and being able to upgrade a little base/safe house thingy, using scavs, but no good for me if the only way to progress is to successfully escape. I know that's the point of a BR to win, but unless you're a sweatlord it might be tough to progress at all.

Alot of the YouTubers I watch are posting a fair bit of Tarkov recently.
Seems like this game is taking what PUBG brought to the table and is turning it up to 11.
I'm not sure about buying in though. The skill gap looks immensely punishing if you cannot commit the time to it.

I've had this for a couple years now. Only played a handful of hours. Premise is very cool, although it was a fairly rough when I played it last (more than a year ago). Was fun...mostly. Had people camping at spawn points so as soon as we loaded in we died in our first few attempts. Might crank it back up again to see how much it has improved.

Yeah been playing a little bit after getting a trial key to try it out a few months back. This is not a BR game, more a FPS MMO. Can be bloody intense but also through up some really silly moments too.
