Well to a degree they do seeing as one is National league and the other is American league.

Well I am members of both sides so i can comment on it.

My favourite player of all time has been Peter Matera and i love both sides,I am happy to admit that!
I am a 51% to 49% fremantle supporter but i would never start bagging the eagles because if they made the grand final i would try and fly over a watch them. I get sick of people ringing up on the radio and saying hahahaha laugh now all you dockers/eagles we are higher and you suck. It's all crap.

There are actually lots of people in WA that support both sides.
So its not a small minority. I do find it hard to believe that some people would rather see the eagles/dockers lose and collingwood and the bombers win, please, turn it up, they are bloody vics and nothing is worse than them winning it

I'll admit to going to Dockers games reasonably regularly as I have a mate who supports the Dockers. In fact for 20 weeks of the H&A I have no problem with the Dockers, and would probably perfer them to be winning.

However for two weeks of the year the Dockers are evil purple scum who's record against us is pitiful, but that's appropriate because they are, in short, crap. Anything we can use against them is fair game.

Anyway this is the last Derby when we can ask the Dockers to come back when they've played in a final if they're looking for respect .

If the majority of Western Australians supported both sides like yourself, we would be the laughing stock of the entire country. Can you imagine a Collingwood supporter hoping for a Carlton or Essendon win due to state allegiances? Highly unlikely.

Thankfully though, it's only a very small minority of Western Australians who think this way.
