Hate to say it but he has gone. All I can say is we better get something for him.

Funny how things changed when he changed to that Ron Joseph. Players under his management always seem to leave.

Farmer lied. He said he wanted to stay and became a life member. I won't say anymore becuase I will say something I will regret and will get sued.

I am not very happy:mad:

yeah well as moderator i will delete anything before lawyers get to it. or anyone complains. thats my job

anyway really i have no pity for the man. he has played us as supporters HIS "TEAMMATES" and the melbourne football club for fools. Deceiving us and lying to us. look i would want to wish him all the best, but id be lying so im not going to. so yeah.......not good.

We'll do without him. it will be a loss, but Green and Robertson will fire. Let's concentrate on our midfield.

Our leading goalkicker in the year we made the Grand Final. This is not good at all.

As for the midfield they need a big kick up the ****.

Bloody right

Not only do the midfield need a kick up the ass, I think the whole club needs a good kick up the ass!!!

And to the person who said that we will do without him, u can get ****ed.

There is no need to attack other supporters Cowboy. But yes there are a few people at MFC that need the riot act read to them. And to think the drama is only starting. The election is coming.

Hey, look, I learned how to do quotes........

Yeah, your right mate, I probably over reacted but I am just so pissed off and angry and stuff. I just cannot believe it. I wil ladmit I shed a quiet tear when I read the news. It's like a family member has passed away......

I reckon if Joe were still Prez, we would not be in this predicament....

Don't get me started on that. If we did not have this board crisis that he started we may have had more of a chance of keeping him.

Bulldust. This had nothing to do with the 'board crisis'. This was a man who wanted to get back to his family. Good on him. He is replaceable. As is the board. The 'crisis'at MFC will sort itself out (with no help from the media though).

Do not panic fellow Demon supporters.

I wish I could be as positive.

Tell me, how can you replace a crumming forward who in a season kicked 76 goals and who has those skills? I'd love to know.

Exactly the same situation, going home for family reasons. Doesn't feel good to be screwed by your own players, glad the only decent player WC has lost is Gehrig. Anyway my Mum and Dad are happy about Farmer coming to Freo as they are Freo supporters. They can't wipe the smiles of their faces after the Jeff White incident.

at the time the whole Jeff White thing happened it was different. yes white came home for family reasons BUT there r some diffrences

Jeff White
  • He was drafted at 17 to go to perth.
  • He was thrown in the deep end straight away. no time to warm to the situation
  • He was still a rookie when he came home.

Jeff Farmer
  • he is an established player
  • he was drafted by freo but they didnt want him so he came to melbourne
  • the club put in countless amounts of energy to help him develop as a player
  • we let him go home whenever he wanted. we helped him settle in (ie relocate his partner and kids to melbourne)

Whitey never got the support and the tutorage at freo like he got at melbourne. He got nowhere near as much "help" that we gave wiz. I have spoken to whitey about this in 1999. he said that freo didnt fight to keep him. We have fought to keep wiz. but we arent going to move heaven and earth for him. we respect his wishes. He just has to cop the sh1t he will receive next year and for years to come.

I wonder if he will go to the best and fairest. Give everyone one more chance to say goodbye.

Oh God! There is so much i wanna say but I'm just so shattered by the whole thing.

Dees01 you are really starting to ****en piss me off! I'm sorry but there is no way I'm letting you blame Gutnick for this and there is no way I'm letting you vent your anger on Farmer.
His manager is an absolute ****er and i don't know how exactly but he will pay for being a greedy bastard!
Farmer wants to go home, thats fair enough. He isn't going for the money as he said he doesn't even care what club out of the two he will play for or whats the deal with the money. However i do think that as a proffesional successful sportsman he should know better than collapse under the pressure. He got his prioreties a bit mixed up i think because when you are a team player and a hero to so many people you gotta make sacrafices in order to bring home the trophies. Im not however gonna judge him on his decision and im not gonna hold grudge against him because i think that is the worse possible thing to do. When we play against Freo i will not be booing him although it will hurt me seeing him in that god awful jumper.
The realisation of players leaving is something all clubs deal with, and i suppose we all knew what was going on but we all tried to remain positive and hope that he stays. He cannot be replaced as a player or as an individual and we will miss his skills and spark very much.
Cowboy i know how much this must be getting you down and you know that i'm here for you whenever you need! :)
I hope Farmer goes to the best and fairest and departs on a positive note with all the guys and as much as it hurts me to say this i wish him the best of luck for the rest of his career!

Firslty I blame his manager Ron Joseph, things were going fine until he came along. It si no coincidence that players he manages go to other clubs. I don't blame Joe but it does not help. Why would you go to a club that is seen to be unstable?

Secondly I'd love him to go to the Best and Fairest then I can say a few words to him. On second thoughts it may not be such a good idea as I will say something I will probably regret.

Dees Rule you are a bit naive. Both Freo and WC have offered him very lucrative deals. It is a case of which club Melbourne can trade with. Money had a big part in this don't you worry.

As appose to Freo and WC who are so stable they don't have a coach and finished bottom of the ladder?

You giving him **** will not help, leave the guy alone i think his decision has been made hard enough without idiots like you coming up to him and abusing him!

Call me naive, call me stupid but i think you are the one who is judging him upon past experiences with players. Of course money had part in this, would Farmer have gone back home knowing he had no career future waiting for him? of course not! But his final decision was made due to his family and his own personal reasons. Not once has he said that money is a factor and the only person demanding more money was his manager who we all know is a greedy bastard.

I think someone knocked you over the head with a brick for you to be that dumb to say something like that!
Why the hell would i be happy to see him go?? Just coz i don't abuse him and hang **** on him the way you do doesn't mean i'll be glad to be seeing him next year in a Freo gurnsey.
You know while you were telling me how Robbo is defenetly leaving, it got me thinking and i realised that no matter what happens i can't be angry at the player and hold grudges against him.
I'm glad that Farmer will be with his family, I'm glad that he can finally be home and thats not because im glad to see him go but because im glad he is happy.
Of course im thinking about the team and what a lose to us he is, but im also thinking about him as a person, a human being.
I love Farmer, and i will continue admiring his skills and marvel at his magic regardless of where or who he plays for and thats because he hasn't changed in my mind, because unlike many of you i respect him as a person before i respect him as a player. He did what he had to do for the sake of his family and no im not happy he is leaving..... god i would hate to see any players leave us... but i am happy he left for the right reasons which i believe he did.

hmm well yeh nicki is right...jeff actually didn't really wanna go over to freo in the 1st place.....he was 17 and was drafted....he'd always wanted to come home even just being away from his family especially his brothers...i know was real hard.........he came home now wiz is going home....
