Juddy played a bad game - you think he doesn't feel safe? You think he is worried about being dropped? He is probably about as worried as being dropped as the afl second highest goal-kicker should be.

The kettles of fish are so different not even worth discussing.

How does hindsight have anything to do with this? We don't need hindsight to know Fev playing improves our overall chances of winning any particular game - whether he kicks 10 goals, 0 goals, or is dropped this week, none of that changes this fact.

The 'chances' you speak of went up s*** creek without a paddle last week didn't it? That's hindsight. As is if we win Sunday without him it will have been a great choice to drop him.

I agree, Fev is a dangerous forward, I will never not admit that and he can win us a game off his own boot, but he was about as useful as airvents on a submarine on Friday night. He just needs to get back into form.

You have faith in your team, you don't drop half the list if you lose by 50+ points.

I have faith in our team, see all my posts complaining about the negative nellies out there. If a player is not playing well, then drop him. Simple.

That's the one. And I meant there's much more chance for Fev to sook, because there would be more chance for him to score goals, and for people to pass him the ball :p

It's called cork in Ireland and Setanta moved from Cork to AFL. It's a great game to play very brutal... :thumbsu:

PPG, you're a voice of reason amongst a fair bit of hysteria here..........
I mean really, come on...drop Fev, what stupid thing to do.
What happens when the focus of our mono-focus forward line gets dropped....who is going to kick the goals?
Perhaps if we had some decent other forward options we could consider it, but at this stage I think not.

So do you think that we would have lost by a greater margin last week if Fev had not played??

I think, in a team sport, if one person does not do the team things, the whole team stops doing the team things. I am not going to say that the lack of effort from the entire team last week was Fev's fault but if a senior player is not leading by example then he needs to go. I have no doubt that if Fev was dropped from now until the end of the season, Carlton would not put in any poorer efforts than the one they displayed last week

Admit we don't have much options, but if Fev's allowed to get away without chasing (which resulted in 2 Essendon goals), is that good for the team? Is bitching to his teammates good for the team? Oh, he is the second highest goals kicker, well that means that whatever he does is alright, is it?

As to the mono focus forward line, we've won games this year without Fev contributing. We got within 9 points of the Saints with Fev only kicking 2 - however the benefit of Fev that night was the pressure he put on the Saints, it was great.

History lesson - Milne & Del Santo (previously undisciplined), both dropped by the Saints, have come back as better players and the Saints are unbeaten this year

- S Johnson, dropped by the Cats for 5 or so games for poor attitude, how good is he and the Cats now (unbeaten this year)?

- Didak & Shaw, dropped by the Pies (top 4) for poor team attitude, now both playing great footy (especially Didak)

The reason for dropping Fev over poor attitude is that football is a TEAM game, it's about each member to the win, otherwise we'll never beat the Cats and Saints of this world, makes sense? Because that's how the Cats and Saints play and that's why they're the best.

What do you think the effect is on his teammates when Fev, on 700,000 grand a year, doesn't chance? Do you think it's good for team morale? Do you think it makes the younger ones lift? Do you think it helps us win matches? And what about the goals that the opposition kicks when Fev has poor attitude? Does that help us win matches

Drop him for 2 or 3 weeks and (hopefully) we'll see a better Fev

Oh, but he's second on the goal kicking list, pffft.

If you think football is about individuals and not the team, well ...

As a side note, does anyone know how and when Fev sustained this injury? Seems kind of funny that the decission was made on the Thursday after a 2 week break to have surgery after the next game. I would have thought, unless the injury was sustained in the days leading up to the Essendon game, he would have had this done after the Saints game.
