I don't know much about this label but I've recently listened to a bit of The Clean, The Chills and The Verlaines who all seem pretty amazing. Starting to get the feeling I've stuck gold. Does anyone know of any more kiwi groups worth investigating from this era / label?

Yeah they had some quality bands on that label, not many of them had much success outside of NZ unfortunately.

The Chills were a great band.

This song should have been a much bigger hit than it was.

Headless Chickens were another great band from that label.

One of my favourite songs of theirs.

Tall dwarfs, a chris knox band, really great and 'beat' is a fantastic album by chris knox.

Dunedin

Probably not surprising that Dunedin produces quite a few good bands as it's a major student city with the University of Otago the oldest and arguably the best university in NZ, it's the Kiwi equivalent of Cambridge or Oxford.
