I'm just about to start investing some of my money via forex. Any tips or re commendations for a first timer? First time I'll be investing in any markets, just doing it for a bit of entertainment to start with.

Fixed that for you. Tips for a first timer.. take it to the casino instead, at least you might have a good time while losing all your money.

Not exactly on topic, but I'm leaving the UK soon and wondering what to do with my sterling. Its significant, but not a gigantic amount, and not money I desperately need, but I'm not going to leave out in a UK bank account forever either. Do you see upside in the pound within the next 6-18months?

Just transfer it back using OzForex, close enough to free.

If it's a significant amount and you're concerned about volatility and want emotional security, do it in 4 transfer spaced 3 months apart.

Use Transferwise. I use it to transfer between the UK/Australia/Poland and have found it to be superb. Takes 1-2 days and has minimal fees. If you would like a referral PM me.

I recommend staying the f*ck away from this sh*t. invested $1000 some months ago and now I'm $1000 poorer.
