Frawley stated at the end of the telecast that Rutten and Bassett are the two premier defenders in the competition. I had no problems with the commentating apart from Drew Banfield who just plain struggles to think let alone speak. Jacko is always going to be a little pro towards the WA sides but he was giving credit to our players as well, especially the hardness at the footy and the contests.

It's not rocket surgery. When choosing people to commentate on football, don't choose meat-heads. Should be the Number 1 rule for the tv networks.

Banfield was terrible, not what he had to say just the way he said it.

I thought there others were good, no Freo bias at all in my opinion.

A couple of things stood out from Frawley.

On the Freo half forward Flank there was a stoppage. alot of numbers at the ball.

We worked the ball out Beautifully in a congested and a small confine.

The ball Ended up with Knights who was running away clear and he bounced the ball and it just skidded and went out of Bounds.

Frawley praised Freo for how hard they were at stoppages and as a result stopped us then.

In the last quarter we attacked for about 5 minutes. the first time freo went past the wing Frawley said We were struggling to defend.

Seconds later the ball went straight back into our forward 50.

the commontators felt sorry for Pav when Basset got in his way. They Praised Freo when they doubled teamed our forwards.

Goodwins "throw" in the last Quarter after seeing the replay from behind where you couldnt see nothing they catogoricly stated it was a right decision.

All of what I saw was well done freo. young Freo Players got praised regular. none for Knights or Van Berlo.

They loved bagging Mcleod.

It was quite Shocking.

I dont recall the free kick stastics ever being commented on.

Agree – Drew Banfield looks extremely nervous in front of the camera and is struggling big time with his role as boundary ride.

I didn’t have a problem with the commentators yesterday because I was far too busy screaming at the umpire via the TV to listen to what they were saying.

Actually when Perrie levelled the scores in last few minutes of the game, Danny Frawley said something along the lines of "All Fremantle need to do keep knocking the ball forward and try and score a behind".

Maybe Spud willed Freo to victory.

I agree Banfield is struggling, however working in Motorsport media myself, on camera presentation does take time to get used to. Maybe he will get better in time.

I didn't think the commentary was too bad in the parts I listened to, which admittedly, wasn't all that much.

One thing that annoyed me was in the final minutes with scores level, Jakovich said "Freo need to get it down there end and get a score". Well, didn't Adelaide need to as well? Strange comment.

Well that was my point. Pretty much 90% of the time, the two of them were talking about what Fremantle needed to do to win almost as if they we were having a discussion with each other with the topic being, 'What would you do if you were coach of Fremantle.'

I am not trying to defend them but I think in a lto of ways Freo had a bit more riding on the game plus being their home game the commentators back the home team due to the excitment of the crowd.

Overall except for Banfield it was a good call.

I thought their commentry was more like coaching. Freo do this, Make this move Freo, Freo make me your love child etc.

We got no cudos for our game, the commetry was a sham. If I were not watching it slightly delayed I would of resorted to turning on FiveAA (now that is desperate!)

I thought the commentary was alright, Spud commentates like he is in the coaches box for both teams, so when Adelaide evened the scores he was just saying what he thought Freo needed to do counter. I'm sure if Freo had scored an equaliser he would of said now the Crows need to get it forward and score.

Let's face it, there was a lot more talk about Freo because they were a rabble, Adelaide was playing to it's gameplan and therefore there wasn't much critique to give, they were doing what was expected hence it was Freo who needed to do this and that to counter it.

I thought Jakovich was alright, but I got the feeling he is another one of those players that go into commentary and expect the players to be like robots and any minimal contact he wants a free kick which baffles me. Much like Silvagni used to be for Channel 10 "The point is Robert he shouldn't of touched him with his index finger around the neck area, a clear free kick"

Jackovich is an absolute shocker of a commentator. People thought Eddie was biased, but Jacko (and every single WA-based commetator - except Dennis of course) are worse!

I always find the same problem when we play in Adelaide.
