Guns.. it is quite possible that I will be in Perth for this match...

I am already talking to Ando about coming, but I only have the 3 home game membership...

Might talk to the membership people about this as well (they owe me for all the screw ups with my membership :P)

last year we did it with the spirit of carlton and it was great
this year for whatever reason out go spirit and back comes CFC
we hope it maintains if not improves that standard

Just trying to work out the logistics to make this possible as neither of us have been to Perth.

Our flight arrives in Perth on matchday at 8:30, would there be enough time to get to our hotel (in CBD) and make it to the function in time? Having never been to Perth i have no idea how long it takes from airport to the city.

well you have 2 choices - taxi or phone a friend and there should be plenty of taxis (no drivers that speak English or have a clue about direction). About 20 -30min drive into city. Quick shave etc
The Italian Club would be a 5min taxi from city. Grab the buses to and from Subi. You will have plenty of time.

Sounds doable to me assuming plane is on time of course. Will run it past the missus as she was keen on some kind of prematch function.

No major dress code I'm assuming?

As much Carlton gear as you can wear.

There's a third option. This bus takes about an hour (for a 30 min drive), but you get a great tour of some very average residential suburbs at no extra charge as the only bus servicing the airport snakes its way through a million stops on the way to the city. If you're lucky and arrive on pension/dole day and get one of the earlier buses, you could be rubbing shoulders for a part of the way with some of our finest lower-class individuals on their way to pump the pokies at the casino.

I kid not. Perth is great.

You taking about the shuttle bus? That goes directly into the city and will drop you off at your hotel.

That function does seem like a good lead up to the game.

post a picture of the missus and I will tell you if it is bikini weather (no dress code mate. If you manage to bribe your way onto banner squad you must be in Carlton gear)
Buses to and from the game, guns?
sounds like a plan young man. First round on you. I still have that shirt for you from last year someplace

That is a great line up Guns. Should be an excellent morning.

I have confirmation that I have been allocated a ticket and can't wait for the big day at SUBIACO OVAL.

Glad we are back at the Italian club. It is a great venue and excellent parking is available, for free. Oh, and the food is delish.

I was told that the tickets to the game were sold out in three hours.

See you at the Odin tomorrow.

Always a massive line for taxi's in Perth.
Allow a bit of extra time just standing around waiting for one.
And don't check your bags if you can help it. The Perth baggage handlers are the slowest in the country. (Sorry Guns)

Nope, transperth bus. Thats the only PT servicing the airport. Haven't used a shuttle bus in perth as I unfortunatily live here so never stay at a hotel.

on a sat shouldn't have miners returning. I have to be early at the gig otherwise would come and grab you. Certainly a pick up is best but shuttle should be fine>Worst comes to worst wear your gear and we can secure your luggage some place. Not a drama if you are late to the function. I will make it your while

just asking, how do you guarantee tickets to go to the game for Freo v Carlton?

I have accommodation and flights already organised for that weekend. Do i need to pre-purchase tickets beforehand or is general admission tickets available on the day of the game?

The carlton allocation sold out in 3 hours so the only way to get tickets is gen admin. IF Freo is still in the hunt for finals that will be tough but not impossible. If Freo fold it will be a walk up start
In future you need to prepare ahead. Join wa blues on facebook or keep up to date with the web page and we try to keep you informed
