Yes, IMO Bowden should be played on the forward line.
At 188cm and 90 Kilos, he is a good overhead mark and has good pace.
In fact with Richo out again, I'd play him at Full forward.
I know he has been very, very ordinary of late but he has outstanding ability and if he was played in his RIGHT POSITION, on the forward line he will turn form slump around. He should be that 3rd or 4th option in the forward line.
He is a good mark, a good set shot at goal and has footy smarts.
Bowden has his place, we just need to find out what that is and use him at his most effective(I think up forward), but accept that his limitations will stay with him forever. When Bowden first came on the scene, most thought he was as good as Hird , the danger is judging a player on how good we think they should be instead of how good they are in reality.
We have plenty of Wingmen in this team but not many high calibre forwards due to injuries. This week against the Swans would be the RIGHT TIME to at least try this option and be PRO-ACTIVE in winning games.
