The suspension might be a blessing in disguise for Gaff - he doesn't have to decide whether to pull out of any games or not.

I hope he recovers fully regardless of the potential outcome ( contractually speaking).
Something like this ( heart ailment) sounds like it may be either a full recovery or worst possible. Either way it is probably unlikely to impact his decision in so far as it probably wont be a long protracted illness like cancer.
Call me an arrogant appologist but I really feel for Gaffy and his family and hope it all pans out well. Footy is the least of his issues atm.

How do you think West Coast would approach things then if Gaff decides to move to Melbourne? We wouldn’t really match the offer with the intent to keep him here, but is that the only way to force a trade?
