GEELONG will consider fighting to clear Gary Ablett's name tonight even though he won't be suspended on a rough conduct charge.

The Cats are mystified that Ablett was offered a reprimand for what they considered a legitimate bump on West Coast defender David Wirrpanda.
Officials will today decide whether to challenge the match review panel's finding at the AFL Tribunal tonight to erase the 75 demerit points for the first-term incident, which was assessed as negligent conduct.
If Ablett accepts the reprimand, the reduction for a guilty plea will slash the total to 56.75. But those remaining points would be added to any future offence in the next 12 months
.

WTF????

That was a dead set fair bump, and brilliantly executed by Ablett.

Reprimand my arse...:thumbsd:

Meanwhile what has happened to that guy that almost sent Caracella into a wheelchair??
Tim Notting hasnt been charged with anything. Which is fair to be honest. If you have a look at it, it was a 50/50 contest, and Notting wanted the ball more. Sadly, he collected Caracella in the act of getting the ball.

"Wrong place, wrong time" kind of thing. :( It was horrible to look at, but Notting really didnt do anything wrong (And yes, before u say it, neither did gary Ablett. I said that above :))

Yet GAZZA is rewarded with a trip to the tribunal!

Whatever, nothing can surprise me anymore i suppose

What about the guy who elbowed Harley in the head? HUH, HUH?

Haven't seen the incident, but this was brought up at work today.

When someone told me of Ablett's reprimand today I almost laughed, that was one of the best bumps I had seen in a long time and nobody even questioned that it may be reviewed watching the replay.

Absolutely ridiculous. It was a beauty of a shirtfront and Wirra was up straight away. You know that game recreation football that they have for people who want to play non contact aussie rules (they pull flags out of your pants....)? In 20 years time I fear our game will look alot like that.

I had the same reaction. Against Kangaroo's when i saw the Matty Scarlett reply of his 'attempted strike' i was worried, however with the Gazza bump, i cheered because there was no malice involved. They were both committed to the contest and Gazza decided to defend himself at the last minute.

That is what our game is all about. It's shattering that he was even sighted.

Best legal bump I've seen this year...no free kick, no malice, just good hard footy which has been severely lacking lately. The the tribunal has to go and **** things up for us all...absolute disgrace.

The fact that they took less than a minute to deliberate on it speaks volumes.

Waste of time.

Pretty sure it was the third, it was this incident that made Mooney go to the backline wasn't it?
Yeah, I think.. I don't know, but he elbowed him in the head and Harley was almost knocked out. It made me angry.

Has Geelong lost the plot?

TUBE STEAK BOOGY

The correct answer is probably yes but certainly not about this one. The results speak for themselves anyway. Considering the amount of material available, that would have to be one of the worst troll attempts I've seen on this board.

This isn't a troll. The thing is he didn't get suspended so why fight it? I haven't seen it but by all reports it was just a good old fashioned hip and shoulder.

Don't fight the reprimand, put all your energy behind this weekend's game.
