I hear meth capital a lot. Should start a drug exclusion zone up somewhere.

Most people are friendly
Like all places there are parts of town to stay away from
Also depends what you like to do in your free time,fishing,boating are awesome here

I am looking at houses at rangeway at the moment. I work in WHS. I love WA and want to return from NSW. What areas should you stay away from?

Sorry to say but Rangeway is one of them.Karloo is another,parts of Beresford
Try,parts of Bluff Point,Mahomets,Seacrest,Sunset Beach,Drummonds,Waggrakine,Moresby

Yes,as said earlier meth is in Geraldton
Some parts worse than others
The areas I recommended is more employed people with families and home ownership

Geraldton is nice! It gets a bad rap from Perth people, many of which have never actually been there.
Fantastic beaches and fishing (get out to the Abrolhos if you can). Weather is beautiful year-round, albeit pretty windy for a few months of the year. The foreshore is magic, even on a winter's day.
It's the kind of place where it pays to befriend some locals, as the night life is OK but pretty limited. It's a great place to raise a family, but you may get a little bored if you're not into outdoor activities.
As someone mentioned, you shouldn't be looking at Rangeway.

Yeah I've lived in Geraldton for 15 years, it is a great place to raise kids. There are heaps of outside activities for them like fishing, surfing etc and sports are huge here. Get involved in a sporting club or two and you will make lots of friends.
Its a good size place as big enough to have reasonable amenities, but small enough that when you go out you usually see someone you know if you are involved in the community a bit.
Windy time is Spring & Summer, but not every day. Just get a really strong southerly sea breeze most days, which is handy on hot days anyway.
Autumn & Winter are generally fantastic weather wise.
Avoid Rangeway, Karloo & Spalding, most other places are OK. Wandina where we live we find the best as mostly families with kids and very little crime.
There is a drug problem like a lot of places but if you live in the better areas you really don't see it.

Get up there for Fishing every year...The only town I've known to have a security guard in the local KFC.
