A few months back I was handed a cd by a band called Glasvegas. I had no idea who they and decided to give it a bit of a spin. All i can say is 'Wow'!! Easily my favorite album in quite some time. Probably my favorite since The Killers debut Hot Fuss, and stretching further back to Oasis's first album.

If you havent heard from them or any of their songs, definatley give them a look. If i had to describe their sound i would put it as a combination of U2/Coldplay type stadium rock in parts (especially how they build the songs to massive crescendo's), mixed with 60's Doo wop type melodies. Now place that with a vocalist who has a strong scottish accent (so strong that even after about 20 listens i still can't understand about 20 percent of what he is saying) and you get a sound that us quite unique. Every track on the album is a great song (minus 2 'talking' type tracks) with 4-6 outstanding tracks. It does take about 3 listens or so to the album to fully get into it but once you do, trust me this album is not leaving your stereo for some time!

For those that have heard the album, what are yor fav songs? For me it changes. At first it was 'Geraldine', 'Go Square Go' and 'Daddy's Gone'. At the moment im really liking 'It's my own cheating heart that makes me cry' and 'Lonesome Swan'.

Thoughts?
