Dogs AFL listed players are just leaps and bounds in front of ours. Ace just isn't anywhere near it, dropped 2 easy marks and gets bodied out of every contest. Alex Davies finds himself in the right spot often but just doesn't have the strength (yet) to get clean disposals.
Brodie looks a level above when he puts the effort in but he still has no urgency, sharp and jez unsighted.
I like Fyfe off halfback, he attacks everything

Why are we chipping it to the pocket from the kick in.
Dumbest play in football at the moment

Just shows what we already knew was true. The standard our reserves team is playing at is well below other AFL teams and that obviously means the development of our draftees has suffered over the years. Fortunately, we are now in the VFL and our reserves will eventually adjust to this level which will obviously benefit our AFL team as well. Big difference between lining up on a couple of undersized key forwards from Redland and coming up against number #1 pick Jamarra Ugle-Hagan + #2 pick Josh Schache.

On a positive note. Murtagh has taken two nice grabs in the forward 50 and has now kicked 1.1.

Great play from Murtagh there.
Good leap, strong hands and nice finish.
Such a wide body that he could just protect the ball out front and defender didn't have much chance to spoil.

Could have done better on the bomb from Brodie inside 50 a few minutes earlier so nice to see him attack that one strongly.

Score at quarter time
Bulldogs lead 5.2 (32) to 1.2 (8)

Murtagh kicked our only major in the first quarter and also kicked one of our behinds. If he continues this for the next three quarters Dew may be tempted to hand him an AFL debut against the Swans next week. At 196cm and an enormous vertical leap he can play in the ruck as well which obviously strengthens his case.

some questionable decision making from our youngsters

excellent mark and centre from ?uwland but then the kick to sharp on the fat when he is 1 against 3 - just non thinking play

all a learning exercise though

B: Charlie Cormack, Zaine Cordy, Buku Khamis
HB: Louis Butler, Roarke Smith, Jordan Boyd
C: Will Hayes, Lin Jong, Pat Lipinski
HF: Ben Cavarra, Josh Schache, Mitch Hannan
F: Mitch Wallis, Jamarra Ugle-Hagan, Rhylee West
R: Jesse Glass-McCasker, Lachie Sullivan, Cody Weightman
Int: Riley Garcia, Daniel Orgill, Robbie McComb, Dom Bedendo
Emer: Bailey Van De Heuvel, Ned Nichols, Jarrod Gilbee, Reuben William

Probably 500+ games of AFL experience plus some excellent young players lining up for the dogs.

Geez. The coaching staff are asking a lot of 190cm Aiden Fyfe by playing him on the number #1 draft pick Jamarra Ugle-Hagan!

Murtagh just took another nice contested grab along the wing. Seems to be playing well at this level.

Geez. The coaching staff are asking a lot of 190cm Aiden Fyfe by playing him on number #1 draft pick and 195cm Jamarra Ugle-Hagan!

He did kick it out on the full but that was a serious roost from beyond the 50m line when he was gifted a ruck free kick.

Sure was. He's made a few mistakes but also taken some big grabs and has a goal to his name. Probably best on for us at the moment.

Austin Harris kicks our second goal for the day after a nice overlapping lead from a turnover.

As he gets near the top level Ace body is his biggest worry , they need to put him on a serious gym program

It looks like we got another tall option - Murtagh! :)
One thing is at least he has the body to be in the VFL , we really should have qafl top ups as the VFL is a tough man's comp. Some of those kids are being fed to the lions, wait till they play a team like Port Melbourne with weathered 28 year Olds , it will get ugly unfortunately
