If the Spida deal didn't come through, I've heard the Swans were going to lure Staff back into the fold. I have my reservations with Spida both on and off the field. The no ********s policy is sure to be tested.

Now that piece of info is laughable. Fair dinkum Stafford was so far finished when he quit that we would have been better off begging Torture to come back.

Staff was ok. Was awesome during 96/97, but then couldnt recapture that form. Not sure if he would of been good back at the Swans, often looks lazy and uninterested.

On the topic of Stafford, who remembers that game against the Roos where the big fella had 24 or 25 possesions in the first half at the MCG then followed it up with only 2 or so in the 2nd half. He looked like destroying the Roos that day until the 2nd half started.

absolutely...we were well shot of stafford when he headed south, his heart has rarely been in it...if spida's had the barry hall talk, as he says, he'll be fine...crucial point in a recent interview, he said he wanted to be a good player in a good team, basically he's sick of playing with losing teams, this is his last shot at earning a reputation as a winner, he'll be better than at any time with the hawks, as long as his body holds up...there's probly 20 blokes you'd pick before you'd even think of stafford
