Mark it down... hell, put the farm on it.

Richmond v Carlton on July 10.

The club is celebrating 130 years at a Homecoming Gala the following night and no doubt we'll stuff it up.

When they celebrate the history of the RFC I wonder if there will be a small tribute to us losing tribute, milestone, celebration and other special event games.

Who will get hit by a tram, Polak style?
Oh that cruel.
Commentators still use the term "He got absolutely Polak'sed" in their calls. Incident will live on in infamy forever.

As strange as this OP sounds, they actually have a point. I will let you know the games in which we had the "Homecoming Hero" theme going on, and our performances in those games

Round 2, 2014 - W - Carlton. Built a sizeable lead only to have that lead dwindled and scrape over the line
Round 4, 2014 - L - Collingwood. Pretty much were not in the game at all
Round 6, 2014 - L - Hawthorn. Smashed us by 66 points
(Round 9, 2014 - L - Melbourne. It wasn't a Homecoming Hero theme, but Tom Hafey game)
Round 13, 2014 - L - Fremantle. We know how that went down
Round 14, 2014 - L - Sydney. Was a decent performance this one albeit a loss
Round 16, 2014 - W - Brisbane. Although a win, it was not a fine performance even though we won comfortably against them away
Round 19, 2014 - W - GWS. Same as Brisbane. Was a win, but not a fine performance even though we won comfortable against them away
Round 20, 2014 - W - Essendon. Was a win and a decent performance
Round 2, 2015 - L - Shocking loss against Bulldogs
Round 5, 2015 - L - Loss against Geelong

Only decent performance was the win against Essendon and the loss against Sydney in the "Homecoming Hero" theme. The players appear to be spooked out playing in front of these former Richmond premiership players and elites.

Richmond vs Carlton is said to be after a Homecoming Gala. You may call it the "Homecoming of all Homecomings". If things don't change, it will probably be a loss, and a shocking one too

Thanks for going to this effort.

I'm sure there are more actually. What about the game where fans paid to have their name on the jumper. IIRC it was a mid-season game against Carlton and we lost that. What about Dreamtime games? And, of course, our last two finals.

My point is the club will start ramping up the selling of this night, and it will naturally be linked to the game, and they'll want us to buy in and tell us how great an event it will be, but when we lose to Carlton I couldn't give a stuff about the gala.

And this year they newly-introduced marquee game against Melbourne that we lost by 32 points.

They crumble on the big stage, and for that reason, I feel as though the club should tone down the amount of "big" and "meaningful" games they have per season. The "Homecoming Hero" theme is so often in the season, and honestly we cannot afford to play badly that many times. I know they are trying to honour the Richmond elites of the past, but it is clear that they don't perform well under that kind of pressure.
