Harry Taylor Question

Taylor is a first year player at AFL level - of course there is room to improve.
However, Harry's efforts are anything but passenger-like to date forrrest.

That 2nd effort to chase the Carlton player inside 50 and ping him holding the ball on saturday night was inspirational and a sign of the gun this kid is .

a week in footy makes a big difference. I seem to remember after the collingwood game a different opinion on him.

not saying that at all

most of the time is at afl level, and looks he has been there for a while

but at times he seems out of place, ie a minority of the time, almost looks spooked

Not from me - He was hung out to dry on Cloke by Thompson and will be the better for the learning experience.

Of course, the reactionary element on this board were calling for his head and telling us he didn't have what it takes. Standard practice for a player who has a bad game around these parts.

Harley, Milburn and Scarlett on the other side of their careers. Egan gone for all of 2008, indeed his career may be in doubt. Taylor won't struggle for a position I'd argue.

Spot on. I made this point in another thread regarding Harley. If Harley wasn't captain and Egan was fit, he wouldn't be in the team. Taylor is our next KPP in defense and there's no way he'll be dropped. At this point in time you'd assume Scarlett will continue is injury free run for the next couple of years and Egan will hopefully be fit next year. We dont have room for 4 talls down back but we'll need a spare incase someone goes down although you'd think Harley will find it hard to keep up with any more than the 3rd opposition tall. Egan and Taylor are the future so if we can get them both up within the next couple of years, we dont need to depend so heavily on Scarlett.

And an 110 consectutive game run comes to an end.

Don't be so sure. Harles said on 774 he only has hamstring tightness and they took him off as a precaution and not to rule him out for next week.
Cheers, I was at the game so didn't know the extent. Just heard hamstring and assumed the worst.

If that was hamstring tightness, I'll eat my membership.

Scarlett's left hammy was bandaged heavily when he walked out onto the ground - walking around looked very proppy.

In fairness in the second, when he went off, he got some massage work done before pulling the plug. That indicates to me that they were still considering putting him back on.

You're probably right, but there is absolutely no way they should risk him - remember Ottens in 2005 when he took that kick and turned tightness or a slight tear into a full on tear.
