Kangaroos rover Brent Harvey is free to play in the Roos’ opening game of the season against Port Adelaide at Football Park after he was cleared at the AFL tribunal tonight of a charge of striking.

Harvey, one of the Kangaroos’ most important players, was found not guilty of striking West Coast Eagle Trent Carroll.

The on-ball dynamo was reported by field umpire David Corcoran and boundary umpire Jamie Giles during last Saturday’s practice match against the Eagles at Subiaco.

Player advocate Iain Findlay was quick to pounce on the fact that the umpires had not followed the correct produce with the reporting duties and this helped the defence.

Tribunal chairman Shane Maguire said there was not enough sufficient evidence and the charge was not sustained.

If Fletch is banned I will spew. I saw Harveys fist swing and hit as clear as day and so did 2 umpires!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
