Isn't he out of contract this year? And if so, what are the chances of the Saints wanting to trade him, being as I'm sure they've probably got some immense pressure of their salary cap with the re-signing of Riewoldt. And, if they do decide they want to trade him, would Freo still be wanting him?

Personally I'd love to have him back at the club.
But:
1) He did leave us when we were at our lowest, why should we let him return when we're on the rise.
2) He'd have to be crazy to leave the saints with the list they have at the moment.
3) I think that our chance of picking him up has already expired. It didn't happen last year, so I doubt it will happen this year given his good form.

Just found out his contract is up this year. I reckon he's probably matured in the time he left, and he must have known last year that the Saints were on the rise, yet he still wanted to return to the West. What I really want to know is, with so many contracts up at the Saints, and so many good players vying for better financial contracts, can they really afford to keep a player like Heath Black. Would consider trading T-Lo to the Saints, someone to replace Milne, who I think isn't worth the Saints efforts.

When he left the club so did so many others. We were a mess then
He wanted to come back last year and nothing else has changed this year.
I'd glady give up the 1st round pick for heath.

He says no, but what is he supposed to say when he's in the leadership group and at the saints for the year. You wouldnt want to be saying you're going to leave, you'll prolly get dropped.

Who knows really, he'd be a handy pickup for sure, but we dont need to bend over backwards for him, ditto carr/stenglein. I'm pretty happy with our midfield atm.. An extra runner could be handy tho I must admit.

Aye, we've got a great midfield. The plus I see from Blacky is that, as we all know by now, he's aggressive and hard at the ball. Would be useful. But I very much doubt we would target more then one of Carr, Heath or Stenglein. Wouldn't be able to play them all.
As I see it, we should really target a forward, to swap on the half forward flank with Snake.
