Heath Black's retirement

Just thought this might be worth a thread. Of course, Black is retiring in the shadow of one of the greatest players to ever play, hanging up his boots too. And yes, he left us to join the Duckers. And yes, he did hit one of our own players (but hey, it WAS Cain Ackland, so...). Just enjoyed watching him as a player for us, and wish him all the best in the future.

Interesting that Rob Harvey's tribunal record stands at one melee fine, which resulted from a huge all in at quarter time, which started when Ryan Hargreaves bopped Heath Black right on the point of the jaw at Telstra Dome.

Black played some really good footy in 2004, and I would have preferred it if he had stayed. He played a blinder v Kangaroos, had the ball at the end of the Brisbane game, and got the three votes in the epic against Geelong in Round 18. And the last of his 19 goals for the club was a beauty at the end of the 3rd quarter against Port Adelaide in the Preliminary Final.

Good luck Heath in retirement.

an absolute fantastic effort for 21 years in VFL/AFL. His record will never be matched by anyone, ever.

He's retiring? Does he just want to go home?

Blackie has had a terrible season with injuries. He has degenerative problems in his hips and has just had a shoulder reconstruction. Looks like he'll be taking on a role in the media with Channel 7 in Perth.

With all these Crawf v Harvs comparisons i think Crawford has the wood on Harvs in this one :D. In all seriousness i dont understand why they're comparing the two, Harvey clearly the better player imo.
