If anyone could assist me it would be greatly appreciated.

I have just upgraded to Telstra 4G usb wireless (bigpond) as my 3G usb modem (dongle) broke. Telstra do not make the 3G modems anymore.

I get home and put it in my D-Link wireless router and the right blue light keeps flashing (it's not connecting to Bigpond). I understand it's a 3G router but telstra have made the 4G modems compatible due to no/not many 4g routers on the market.

Telstra want to charge me $100 over the phone for technical support which cant be done until monday.

I'm in tears at the moment, as it's so frustrating. With my 3g modem, i used to just pop it in the router and it would connect.

Is there a way to bridge my xbox through my PC (desktop) via LAN to get xbox live.

Thanks in advance.

Does your PC have vista and what's your credit card numbers

Try posting on Whirlpool.net forums and a bunch of technical people might help you.

Your 4G USB dongle is most likely not compatible with your router. Telstra should have asked you what type of router you were using and made sure the new dongle was compatible. They don't manufacture the dongles, only buy them from companies like Sierra Wireless and re-brand them.

The only thing you might be able to try is looking on the d-link website to see if anyone has had the same issues, or they have released a more recent version of firmware that supports your new dongle.

Did Telstra give you a new username/password for the new 4G router? if it was compatible, then your router would have been setup for the old dongle. Not sure what the setup is with the 4G dongles, but I do know that they have to have the password security switched off to work with routers, or the router needs to be able to accept the password/username itself so it can bypass that step.
