On a recent trip to Vietnam, my mother purchased for me, some handmade statuetts.

They are similar to 3 wisemen. One is prosperity, one is good luck, and the other, i unfortunatly can't remember.

I'm look for information on them, unfortunatly, with out a picture, it's hard to describe, but i'd say they are wisemen.

Can anyone help out by pointing me in the direction of some information about them?

Cheers

The Vietnamese cultural mythology is sort of interesting, and not much different from the Chinese. There are various grouping themes in their art. Your three statuettes could represent a partial or complete collection of any of the following - or none:

The Four Kings: Mountain, River, Forest, Space (area, not Star Trek type space)

The Four Seasons: We know what those are.

The Three Abundances: Happiness, Affluence, Longevity

The Five Felicities: Richness, Honor, Long Life, Peace, 'The Tam'

Hope that helps. Out of curiousity, are any of your statues a small fellow in black pajamas carrying an AK-47?

Peace, Mooster
