One thing that does annoy me though, is that whenever a Fitzroy person has something to say, it is always perceived as whinging, griping, bitching and whatever other adjective you wish to add etc, etc. This is not the case. If people actually take the time to read what Fitzroy supporters say, you'll find that a lot of us do actually have good ideas and suggestions that they could contribute to the club.

Its rather contradictory, wouldn't you say?

I'm not trying to cause a massive argument here - all I'm doing is quoting.

I wonder - have you actually read the egroup site yourself? Have you read it over the past year? Or just that one post?

Why do I ask? Because, you're taking something entirely out of context. At the time I posted that comment on the egroup (which, mind you, was a jestful comment, rather than a directive - something I thought would have been obvious to even the slight of mind), I was also having an equally jestful 'argument' with a number of Qld contributers to the Lions forum. The topic was about the Gabba crowd . . .

I know someone else also posted that egroup message on this site earlier. Did you, and the other person, also note my discussions around August/September, where I stood up for the Brisbane Lions against those who are against the club? DID YOU? I doubt it.

You know, it's always obvious, that when someone tries to bring someone else down, they always focus on the negatives (most likely taking things out of context), and very rarely pay any attention to the positives.

By the way Denno, why is it that you take so much of an interest in what I say? After all, you've posted an entire topic on things that I've mentioned! What are you? The thought police or something? Trying to catch me out?

You'll have to try a lot harder than that!

You know Denno, I'm a little bit disappointed in your effort in this topic. You've succeeded only in quoting me out of context.

Now, let's see here. Should I take quotes from your postings, just to show you up as some sort of fool? No, I don't really want to do that - I actually like a lot of what you contribute.

But, what I might do is, make a post in this topic every so often, just as to keep this topic alive, and remind you how paranoid and obsessive you have been over things that I've said.

(Just having a joke, mate!).

Hey - all I did was get in from another post - I stressed that - and I noticed it was clashing with other comments you made. I thought it was rather interesting, thats all. Who are you to judge whether I'd stand up for the Brisbane Lions?? Of course I bloody would - I've done it ever since their inception!
I haven't been 'paranoid' and 'obsessive' at all - I merely quoted. The statements just didn't make sense to me. I, too, don't mind some of the stuff you contribute - a lot of it does make sense. This didn't!

Denno, my point is - why bother posting a topic about a comment I made, that has been pulled waaaaayy out of context?

I wasn't questioning whether or not you would defend the Lions. I was questioning whether you had read my comments on that particular site where I had done so myself.

Btw - I wasn't having "a cow". Just giving a well weighted response!

And to say "I knew this would come out" (or words to that effect) . . . well, what do you expect! You post a topic about something I've written, do you want me to talk about it or not? I could have just sat back and said nothing, but then again, so could you have. The post wasn't really necessary!

It's just like someone else on here saying "other people have been asking such and such about you Olmy". Well, why don't they ask me themselves?

Denno, if you wanted an explanation for that egroup post, I would have gladly given it to you. But the fact that you came on here with that nasty growly icon fronting your post, told me you wanted to have it out in the open.

I might have to reconsider my suggestion for a "Gabba surveilance system". In fact, I'm reconsidering relocating it into your office Denno. I want to keep a check on you, just to make sure you're not going around quoting me incorrectly in any of you other work.

Anyway, we'll have to discuss this over a beer sometime . . .

Hey Olmy,

Just to clear up my end - I did go to that site - checked about 10 or so messages each way from the "infamous" one. Couldn't find a reference the Gabba crowd at all. Oh well.
My whole point of the post was that it is hard enough to get support for the Lions in Melb (as we both know and have discussed) - and when I see comments that have the potential to incite arguments/clashes over the whole Fitzroy/Brisbane thing - it does get to me. As we both know, the Lions are not about dividing and weakening the support base, but unifying and strengthening it. Its not for me to say whether "the post" was out of context or not, but it didn't matter WHO posted it - it was like a red rag to a bull! Theres been enough trouble - its time (thoughts of old Gough Whitlam!) to get behind the Lions in their quest for the premiership this year and beyond!
I'll drink to that!

Denno, the topic on the Gabba crowd is actually on the Lions website, under the post entitled "43 days to go . . .". The discussion in that thread was occuring at the same time as when I posted that egroup message (that being my intention).
