The sport isn't exactly in a good way when the most successful team of the last 5 years can't find a sponsor. Although perhaps you can mostly put it down to the state of the European economy.

Should be good news for a few other teams though. Wonder what GreenEdge's chances of picking up Goss and Renshaw are? Probably better with the former than the latter - you'd have to think a top ProTour team will want Renshaw as their sprint leader, and at this stage of his career he'd be a fool not to take it.

If Cav was going already then what new sponsor would see value there?

Still I'm surprised in a way he couldn't merge or sell entity to some other team rather than just fold

Agree with your 2nd para.

Sad to see them disband. I remember a while ago they were talking on SEN about the best team in sport. Most people were saying Barcelona or LA Lakers, I rang in and mentioned HTC. Pretty much got dismissed, but the way their lead out train works is really the best exhibition of team work I've ever seen.

Renshaw and Eisel will go with Cav to Sky.

Goss and Howard will join GreenEdge.

Martin will end up either at Saxo or Leopard

If I was Renshaw I would have it in the new contract that Cav has to lead me out for at least one stage win in TdF. :D
