hubcaps

I had one go missing a few weeks ago. I just presumed it fell off, probably in the flood that we had a few weeks ago as it seemed to happen around then. However, just tonight another one went missing. I strongly suspect my neighbours. A month or so ago they had a party and the police were called by one of the neighbours. I overheard the guy say that if it was me that called the police they would shoot my dog. One of the other neighbours also had their car trashed the other day. I reported it to the police and they said that unless I had evidence that it was them they couldn't do anything. It doesn't seem right to me that someone can hassle you and steal from you and the police just allow it to happen:confused:

Anyway, how much do hubcaps set you back? Do they serve any purpose other than aesthetic?

What a country we live in where the police won't even defend the rights of the innocent.

Hubcaps are dirt cheap. I had one fly off a while back (country road 110kph  ). My Grandfather was able to give me an identical replacement from his car yard, but just buy a set and change them all if you're worried about your car being aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
