Tonight's game has just sucked out any excitement I had for this season. Watching Brown go down the way he did was heartbreaking.

I'm a 30 yo man and I shed a tear for him tonight. Last year was tough to deal with but what happened tonight is just down right upsetting.

I couldnt careless that we lost.

I will miss Nathan Brown this season, sure some people can say its just a game but I feel like someone died I'm that deflated.

It was horrific to see Brown sit blank-faced and expressionless from shock with the bone protruding from his shin.

I felt sick as hell.

Up there with James Hird's and Peter Caven's heads being caved in as the worst injury sights I can remember.

PRR - I have been sitting here since the replay tonight thinking/reacting much the same.

I was over in Melb a couple of weeks ago and went to see the Coll v Rich match and was in absolute awe of how Brownie can just turn it on the way he does. To have now seen this horrific sight tonight, I'm just gutted. We can all just hope for now that this is something he can recover from, and come back as good or better than what he's shown the footy world for the last few years now.

Sadened for his loss of this season, he was in the top 3 players so far and would have been a very very close Brownlow contender... The Tigers will back him up fully and will show the rest of the comp that we're not just a flash in the early season... although not quite being able to stand up to some of the other top teams, I only hope that with this tragic loss, that the team stands tall, adds something extra per player and keeps at it for the remainder of the season.

Good Luck Brownie... I wish you the best of luck and a speedy recovery.

I don't think I'll be able to sleep too well tonight :(

Things do come in 3's.

Now the 27th of May has passed things can only get better.

I would have happily forfeited the game during the week had someone told me you'll get brown back fit next week. It's shattering for me as he is my favourite player, argubably the leagues best this year, and he wont be the same if he does come back. I can't beleive in one second a champion's career has been shot. He'll be nearing 28 when he returns and not getting any younger. All the optimism has gone just by seeing this injury, he is our matchwinner and he's gone.

I would have forfeited too.

PRR I feel the same :(

I'm 27/m and I cried too. It was heart-breaking, I'll miss him too. I sure would have forfeited too. I feel exactly the same way PRR, when it happened I was just devasted, it really is like someone just died. I hope for the same things JBean, and please Tiger Faithful, let's not hex his recovery and return to football. We don't know much yet and can only be positive and hope for the best.

Harp.

hope your players dont feel the same way you do. how can you hang the fortunes of your side on a singler player: outside midfielder/small forward?

Was the best player in the league to date. Yer i think we'll miss him

his loss simply can not be covered. i could not watch the injury the second time they showed it on the tv it was that sickening. i physically had to turn away it was that bad. i feel so deflated also, i think any chance we had of a flag this year went out the door with brown going down. best of luck browny, hope you come back better than ever next year.

Gutted isnt enough to describe how i feel PRR. Shattered, devastated, emotional, very sad, sickened, pi$$d off, angry would be a few. Like I said on the main board, I was 20 mts from the incident and heard the crack. I knew immediately he was in serious serious trouble. It was the most sickening sound you could ever hear. Like snapping a large branch in 2. I felt ill. I couldnt sleep on sat nite. Not only did it happen when we were being flogged and in the last qtr, it happened to our best player and one of the best players in the country and nicest blokes to boot. I hope, for his own sake, he makes a full speedy recovery and is back kicking goals for us next year.
I get so incensed seeing bulldog posters talking such crap on the main board. Thet make me lose more respect for that club.

WE LOVE YOU BROWNY!!!!!

Saddest thing is it was in the deadset prime of the lads carrer. One of the games top 5 players in the game.

Have to doubt if he will return (if Brown does indeed return) to his current level.

You hear these stories about Voss breaking his leg, and then turning into one of the greatest players ever upon return.

I tend to believe when (that's if) Brown returns, he'll fail to reach the heights he has this season. I don't believe he would be half the player he was.

It would require an incredible strong mind, determination and overall fighting willpower just to battle the injury itself, let alone rebuild until a quality footballer again.

I was genuinely left gutted and with a sinking feeling in myself last night. Not because of the theatrical-ness and impact-to-the-eye of the injury, but knowing it will hinder or even impede such a great career of a quality footballer.

You'll find modern medicine has come a long way bents. I hear they actually use titanium rods for these sorts of injuries and the bone actually meshes with it to heal back to how it was. They used to use steel which caused a lot of problems. He's lucky it's on his shin and not his ankle like snells. The ankle is a lot more complicated and has more nerves and tendons.
If voss can come back from a similar injury im sure he'll counsel brown a fair bit. He'll be back AND YOU CAN BOOKMARK ME ON THIS!!!!!
