i'm sort of surprised. I have heard we apparently have a full list to choose from, but - correct me if im wrong - the following players are all injured.

Thursfield
McGuane
Meyer
Connors
Graham
Edwards (?? not positive of that one)
Cotchin
Howat

and word has it foley is carrying a groin niggle already, and cogs still a long way of being considered "fit".

so basically 10 players are unavailabl, which is roughly a quarter of the list.

why bloody say we have a full list then?

totally agree, pisses me right off mate.

when i think of a "full list" -i think of all 44 blokes running around every training session, chomping at the bit to become stronger, faster etc.

then when the year ends, and all our young kids haven't improved and look as shit as ever - they pull out the "well, Jarryd didn't have a full pre-season cos he had a shoulder complaint..."

Cartlidge getting a game is really making me ill. same with Silvestre - why not let Rance have a crack in a shitty praccy match in Cairns against a child like Melbourne?

why not give Collard a run in a match before howat as well? we know what howat can do, let collard have a crack - are they scared he will be able to hit a target or something??

also, is raines injured too? he is missing from this match, and god knows he needs the practice..

What I gather is that if round 1 was this weekend we would have a full list minus cotchin. The players missing due to injury have niggles, and could play if required but no point in risking anything in the pre-season.

I dont know about Howat and Thursfield anymore because I heard Howat racked up like 30 something possessions the other day for Coburg and Thursty played dunno how he played, but the others excluding Cotch have minor injuries like 1-2 weeks at the most.

Richo and Browny play, all of a sudden our best is on the park.

I'd be pretty sure the likes Polo, Edwards, Thursfield, McGuane, Cogs and eventually Cotchin would be at the very front of the selectors minds come the middle of the season.
