At the end of October, VAFA wrote to club secretaries asking who would be interested in hosting an international team for a week during the IC08 series in August-September.

Details at:

I think its a fantastic opportunity to build relationships and have a thoroughly good time. Box Hill North have been in the forefront and (I would expect) will have an involvement with the Japanese side.

What other clubs are joining in? Are any of you non-club-secretaries even aware that its on?

you'd take on anyone but the USA i'd reckon.. they'd constantly be asking what the names of our kangaroo's are that we ride to work..

having said that, did anyone watch the episode of mythbusters the other night where the rowing team (eights) had to try and tow a water skier behind their boat?? If my coach (for any sport) was anything like that guy i'd end up knocking him out... "You get 'em big dog!", "YDM (you da man)"

Looking forward to the International Cup. I reckon the teams to watch out for would be New Zealand, Great Britain, Ireland, Papua New Guinea. The standard of these International Cup games are alright. Are there any IC games on at Sportscover Arena?

I like the look of the Japanese, Samurai A and the Dingoes both played some pretty good footy when I played them in Japan.
