Who would agree that Spider Everitt brings a virus to which ever club he goes to?
He was at the saints and I recall he only played 1 finals series there, all the other times the saints missed out.. He left to go to hawks and the saints didnt miss a finals series..
Came to the Hawks and didnt play in a finals series .!! Leaves the hawks and they look like they will play finals footy..
Now he is at Sydney and the so called benchmark of the league look like they are a chance to miss the 8..
Do any of you guys find it ironic or is it just me?
I'd be keen to know what Spiders win/loss record would be throughout his career.

Re: Is spider a virus!

Yes. Ironic, but magnificent. The way he treated us last was very poor, he didn't seem to be trying, so I for one would be very happy if he missed out at Sydney.
He can watch our final appearances from his lounge chair.

Re: Is spider a virus!

i remember jeff kennet saying after he left that while he was a good player and did whatever asked of him, he had an attitude which was damaging to the playing group. Particularly the young players. However, i wouldn't think this influence would have effected Sydney's players, who are mostly experienced and premiership players.

Re: Is spider a virus!

When Sydney decided they wanted Everitt, I said right from the start, that he would bring them "The Curse of the Spider"..Looks like it may yet come true.. I am so happy that he went there. No regret from my part!!
I truly doubt he will ever play, let alone win a Premiership.:)

spider is the most selfish player i have ever known
how could you leave a club with such an exciting bunch of kids, and a bright future to play for a club for wich its future has come and gone...
hawthorn will rise to the top, while sydney will fall down gracefully

go hawks

Good riddance to bad rubbish.I am glad he has gone and even more glad that Sydney are on the verge of being shite again.I hope he enjoys watching us in the finals for the next 10 years.Spida is a curse on everything he touches.

"Spida" Everitt, at 33, looks increasingly knackered after a series of contests and was looking a bit washed out on Clovelly beach on Sunday morning after Sydney's loss to Collingwood the previous night.

Agree. I don't think too much of his attitude. He's been fairly prominent in the papers up here, as obviously they think he's a 'high profile signing', but they're not interested in the other players that have put years of hard work into being a successful team (though that's not Spida's fault).

Anyway, I thought the Swans had a no ********s policy.

I wrote in this place from the moment the Swans recruited this Hawks' reject that they would lament the day.

Okay, he had a big one against us, his former club, but one match glory does not make a season nor does it season '08 or '09.

Sydney, his contract is going to cost you dearly at the bank and out on the paddock.
