Albury-born, Gold Coast-raised Jack Stanlake, was one of the GC SUNS first three signings.

He hails from AFLQ club Surfers Paradise and was a member of the 2008 Queensland Under 18 squad.
A powerfully built, strong leading and deceptively quick forward who can also take a contested mark, Stanlake possesses an unerringly accurate right boot.

Even though used only sparingly in the GC SUNS VFL forward line last season, he showed a tendency to kick goals when they were most needed including a vital six-pointer during the club’s miraculous come-from-behind win against Bendigo in Cairns.

A strong pre-season and ongoing improvement may open up 2011 opportunities for Stanlake as a forward scoring option.
