:)Okay, Goldy is man enough to admit when he is wrong.
Throughout the pre-season in the six million and one "our best line-up", "the best 22" and "line-up for round 1" threads, I foolishly did not have this guy listed in my 22 (he was though first emergency....grovel, grovel).
Nothing against Kingy - I love the way he goes about it. Tough as nails, skills are neat and runs all day - the type of player you'd hate to come up against. But I just thought we had others, namely Newman, McMahon, Connors (I didn't have Raines in either), McGuane etc., who I thought were better bets (actually I didn't have Hughes, Schulz, or Moore in either....and I still wouldn't have Moore).
But no longer boys and girls, Jake King is gold.
Richo is Richo - and first picked every week. Defend him til the day I die.
But Kingy has to be the second pick every week. Simply can't be without this fellow.
Were I 17 or even 27, instead of 37, I'd be out there tomorrow buying me a new jumper and putting the number 46 on the back.
Well done young fella and look forward to a long career in the yellow and black.
Simply superb!

I still think he lacks the basic tools, but makes up for it with 1st and 2nd efforts, the ability to run hard and he reads the play pretty well.
When it comes off he looks great, but let's not forget he will play some terrible games this year.
I know that sounds negative and I will draw some hefty criticism from some, but it's not intended to put the kid down.
Like most of our players, they look good when are winning, but look downright terrible when we are playing likewise.
What King and most others on our list, need to do is bridge the gap between their best and their worst. At the moment it's one or the other.
Having said that, he is definitely the new cult figure and good on him. he could teach everyone on our list the value of work ethic and old fashioned G&D.
