Oppo Camp James Aish (Traded to Freo 2019)

Round 2 was his first game of the season. Few dud players in our round 1 game who weren't dropped for round 2. Bit unfair IMO. I don't see how he had a bad attitude.
Are people saying he has a bad attitude? My criticism of him is that he doesn't impact the contests with the heart that an AFL player should. Seems soft.

I think Aish will be a servicable player. The problem with him is where exactly do you play him? What is his best position. On current form it is hard to see how he will fit in our midfield when all are fit, he lacks some pace and doesn't seem to get to enough contests. When he does get involved he is very good and that is the frustrating thing.

He has shown a little bit up forward, but I think I would look at trialling him behind the ball. He is great overhead seems to read the play OK and uses the ball well. If he plays similar way to how Adams did last year down back that could work plus he uses it better.

Aish seems a confidence player and if he doesn't have a defined role or position then it will be hard for him to build confidence.

So with Aish looking to be a Confidence Player. Is Bucks a Good Coach at that as that was 1 of his Big Knocks that he was not good giving players Confidence.

Hopefully this is something he has worked on to make him a Better Coach
Not sure if he is a confidence player. Just might be someone who's not good enough to contribute at a high level on a consistent basis. He is yet to show anything (at Collingwood or Brisbane) to suggest he is going to be anything more than he is now. Needs to get more damaging, he's very vanilla at the moment.

For mine he needs to get his game upto Bartel's game. He might not ever be as good but they both posses similar ability traits.

You know all those "disco biscuits"" you took at Freakazoid Pablo.........................well I think one is still stuck! :p
Lol na honestly i was all for aish and i wanna like him but the more i see him the more i think na no good.....doesn't impact games at all

Packed midfield. Its going to more packed when JDG. Wells and Wills are in. Theres no room for this guy no matter which way people spin it. In short he was cure to the Freeman disaster. Id be very surprised if he was to come good, at this moment its looking like another horror storey from a underperforming recruiting dept.

So he breaks into another position. I think can compete for a half back spot with Ramsay, Smith, Maynard, Sinclair and Scharenberg his only real competition.

I don't think anyone in that group is secure in the side, so there is an opening there.

Regardless of how packed the midfield is, if he performs well enough he'll get a game.

I must admit even I am shocked at what Aish has become. While at the Lions he did lack a bit of work ethic though. He wasn't a bad trainer, or unprofessional but he was just full of himself. I suspect he expected things to be handed to him on a plate more than anything as that had been the case throughout his whole life. His ups and downs are testing his mental strength of which I don't think he is cut out to handle. He needs support more than anything at this stage of his career. Just my 2c. I hope he does well, just not against the Lions.

The best he has Looked is when he has Played Forward as Shows he can Kick a Goal and take a Strong Mark

Spot on, the lot of it.

The name is royalty at Norwood and like his Uncle/Father Michael there's no doubt he can play. Like Michael he doesn't like
physical contact. A loose man in defence, a distributor / quarterback type role. If he's full of himself it's no surprise.
Michael was very comfortable in his own skin. Having people queue to blow smoke up your arse might explain a lot.

Sat near Aish at a VFL game last year, with (testing my memory) JDG, Moore, maybe Ramsay, and a couple of others. Was a bit shocked at how young and slight he looked. My impression of his lack of confidence partly comes from that day. He seemed very keen to fit in, but looked very like the new kid in class (which he was last year). I still think he needs more time (and hugs).

And hair.

Little bit concerned with where he is at. Didn't envision him to be still struggling with work rate and finding the pill given the positive end to his season last year. Needs to find the desire to be great. Last year he needed a month in the VFL to get right and it looks like he needs it again, a backwards step for him.

He was Buggered after VFL Game so he Ran Hard all Day.

He not as bad as last year but being Dropped again is not a Postive Sign Sadly

I think this will be a funny thread to read at the end of the year, very much like last season. Spud, not a spud, spud, not a spud! Apparently WHE wasn't best 22 three weeks ago but now!

We've seen him play very good footy last year, for a number of weeks, so a lot of the issue is in his head. Mostly confidence I'd say. But he'd better get it right pretty soon because we're about to have a serious competition for spots. De Goey almost back, for starters. Then there's daicos and Brown in the wings. I wouldn't put it past Josh Thomas to improve slowly over the year and by midway start to look like an afl player again. Sharenberg is starting to look the goods too. None of this good for Aish's position in the team.

Doesn't fit with this comment by Emma Quayle

Aish did not expect to become an automatic member of Collingwood's first-choice team, after he was traded there at the end of last season. In fact, he knew he wouldn't be: Nathan Buckley told him so when they spoke before the trade went through.

Problem he has is his lack of pace and unless he plays consistently good footy, the kids coming back from injury + new recruits will see him pushed out of the club.
