If it is true that is a mighty tempting offer and I certainly don't begrudge him considering it. I think the club helped get his body in better shape and he has tried his guts out for us. If he was to leave it is completely understandable, but I would love him to stay.

If I was a North player seeing all these repeated offers, I'd be more thinking 'Why aren't you offering me more?'

I wonder what would happen at North if one of these marquee players signed on a huge contract. Especially if they then proved to be a bust and you had players like Cunnington, Ziebell, Goldstein and Higgins producing each week on much less coin.

Why wouldn't it be true? Theyv'e had their hat in the ring for Dusty and Kelly and haven't landed anyone of note. Couldn't blame Polec for taking up the offer but I really hope he chooses to stay at Port.
 
If North want to pay Polec $700k a year let him go he is not worth that much. Polec is not a free agent so contracted or not North would have to do some sort of deal with us. Polec is a good contributor but he is not worth 700k and this may be a case of a manager boosting his client's asking price in the open market. My money is on Jarrod Polec staying where he is.

I laughed at Scott's reference to North as a 'destination club'. They tried for De Goey, Sloane and Martin and failed in each case but then again they did land Sam Jacobs. o_O
 
If he is being offered that much cash then he would have to go. If North value him that highly then a draft pick of a similar value must be in the discussion.

Great news.

Usually when these kind of North reports come out it is only a day or 2 before the player signs with their original club.
 
Not fazed honestly. Again like our recent signings, either wants to be at the club or doesn’t. We’ve got a good record of players staying because they love the club, it’s history and culture.

I thought the rule is that Polec would have to nominate for the draft ( or spend a year out of footyi) if he wanted to play elsewhere unless the 2 clubs can come to a deal

He could, hypothetically, nominate for the draft, if he isn't first picked up as a DFA.

Not that this matters at all anyway, because if Polec's playing for Norf next year, it'll be because we traded him. Zero chance he's delisted.
