It's really a Regional Board topic I guess, but seeing as they both played for you, it was worth mentioning here ...

Jarmans reunited in SANFL

October 19, 2005

SOUTH Australia's revered footballing brothers, the Jarmans, have been re-united, Darren joining Andrew at SANFL club North Adelaide.

Nearly a decade after the pair last played together in the AFL for Adelaide Crows, Darren has been appointed as an assistant to Roosters coach Andrew, who took up his post in 2004.

Darren returned to Adelaide after five years with Hawthorn in 1996 to play alongside Andrew.

The latter's AFL career finished at the end of the year when he was de-listed by the Crows, while Darren played on until 2001, winning two premierships during that time.

He spent several years as an assistant with the Crows before returning to North Adelaide, the club both represented before being recruited for AFL duty.

"Darren's role will be part-time and he will assist Andrew on both training and game day," said Roosters general manager James Moore.

"We believe Darren's appointment will greatly assist Andrew and our players as they strive to succeed in 2006."

Doesn't suprise me in the slightest. He was sitting in the corporate box next to me at the North Vs Eagles semi-final until Andrew called him into the coaches box during the third quarter. Makes it pretty hard for a crows fan to continue supporting other SANFL teams when u have two club legends like they are coaching North, especially if you are a south fan like me! I can't see them coaching AFL ever, but they will both be good as far as promoting the SANFL and bringing in the memberships at North. Both have pretty handy footy brains as well!

Both of them have excellent football brains. AJ would be a good addition to any AFL coaching department I reckon.

maybe, but who do you think they will choose to play for?

Thats right, just say, hypothetically ( :D ) that Jarman qualifies for 2 clubs, his sons will have the right to choose to play for either of those clubs. Who do you think he will choose ?

Jarman qualifies for both clubs as he has played 100+ AFL games for each club. However, something tells me that young Ben won't be choosing Hawthorn ;)

Its not just the name either.

In one of the "curtain raisers" before one of the home games this year (it might have been a half time thing), ex-crows players played with their kids in a mini league type game. Young Ben showed some sensational kicking skills for one so young. He kicked a goal from the pocket very similar to one Thommo kicked against Sydney at the SCG. The kid has that Jarman magic already
