Peart's better. He took what Bonham was doing and made it busier and more INTELLIGENT, if ya know what I mean.....

I'm not in a massive position to retort as i just dont get amongst much Rush dude, and thats not through lack of trying. Much like your other big love, Dream Theatre, i fully acknowledge the undoubted ability of the people concerned, but there just aint anything there that makes me feel it. Its undoubtedly an impressive exhibition of musicianship, but it doesnt touch me or send me to the special places that like Bonham and Matty C and their bands do.

Its more than just technical proficiency or mathematics dude. Its all about that unmistakable, almost indescribable and completely visceral feel and their ability to convey what they're feeling at that exact moment and take the tune and the listener along for the ride that sets them apart.

Its all subjective of course though.

Understood, and respected, mate. Peart, and indeed Rush in general, is very much an 'either you get it or you don't' proposition. To me, he is both a technical magician (or 'proffessor', as he is affectionately known), AND a man who takes you on a journey. Have a listen to 'La Villa Strangiato' from their 1978 'Hemispheres' album, and you'll see what I mean....
