Just wondering what your thoughts are on his future, I have seen him play a few good quarters in the afl, but nothing really consistent. Seems to be a lot of talk about injuries being the main reason for his lack of progression. I think this year may be make or break for him.

i've said it before. if you look at his style of play it's obvious that he needs to string together some senior games to start improving. late in the year was the first time he's got more than just 1 game in a row and he started to show something.. he's classy and creative but not lightning quick so he needs a little bit of time to adapt to the pace...
some say he's slow, but i believe he's not as slow as everyone makes out. he looks like he's only going 3/4 pace but he's keeping up with everyone.
had a good start to pre-season and i think next year will be the year for jobe to start showing what he can do....
as for make or break... he's 6,4 with great hands. if we keep hacks on the list for 5 years i think we should give his as long as we can to prove himself..
IMO he COULD end up being better than stanton, things just have to go right for him

He needs a big year no doubt. I think he's got something but it's hard to say with his leg problems never letting him get fit. He has started the pre-season off well which is a positive.

If he can stay away from injuries (easier said than done) then I have no doubt he'll be a fine player for Essendon. Greg Williams and Terry Wallace were ball magnets in their day, neither was fast, but both had good hands and were great centremen for their clubs.
I see Jobe Watson in much the same way.

sheeds has already said that jobe has one of the best football brains in the side. late 2004 he showed that he could play as a third tall in the forward line, if he gets some mobility into him and endurance he could play as apinch hitting centre half forward, i couldnt see him in the centre!!!

jobe will be good, his not at the cross roads and has more talent then henneman, but then again who doesn't. he also showed us his talent for bendigo in a final this yer kicking 5.
