no its not s.c or d.t related so dont worry lol

i have noticed that he might be playing a different kind of role this year

do you think he will be suited to it or not?

He had 3 goal assist against Carlton, 1 from a handball (which was very unselfish), 2 to very creative 1%'s where he knocked the ball on to Tuck and Brown respectivly who kicked goals...you can't beat class

Looks like he will play up the field a bit more, but I'm sure he'll spend a fair bit of time at fullback if we pick up an injuries of if key fowards start dominating Thursfield, Schultz, etc in individual games

I would rather see bowden get 18 quality posessions from half back to half forward than the 35 cheap backline touches.
That is what I enjoyed the most about the game was that others (king, mcmahon, schulz etc) played a massive part in defense and allowed Joel to get some quality touches.
I want to see more of the same and the reliance on him to dissipate with others taking up the slack oevr this year....:thumbsu:

There are many ongoing debates about life after Richo - whether it will be for better or worse but just as important will be the one about life after Bowden. He has been the rock or stalwart that our defence has been based around for a number of years now and if we have designs on ourselves in the next few years then he can't be the main man - we need to be building our new backline starting from this season.

thats right and if we can have the luxury now of playing bowden further up the field we will, if injuries start to eat into our list they can always push him back. Despite what some people reckon on here I beleive TW is doing a great job building our list and I see many many positives

Bowden kicked some of the best goals i've ever seen a richmond player kick earlier in his career. With his creativity down there, aswell as brown, pettifer, deledio and richo, surely we have one of the best forwardlines going around.

Maybe a little too good at the expense of everywhere else on the field

As Wallsy said in the commentary "Richmond will be very dangerous if they have the luxury of JB on the forward line":thumbsu: He would be extremely hard to match up on.

Wallsy also said "I love big *****" on "On the Couch" on Monday.

One thing we have been very poor at in recent years is keeping the ball in our forward line and Bowden did a good job at keeping it in there a few times.
