The commentators were hardly flattering, we had the 3rd placed team's measure all day and not a peep. Malthouse I get cause of the offended, but the others were just pathetic, even our old captain. He must be jelly that he's not out there :(

Malthouse is just a whiney little bitch. Clearly he can't bring himself to be objective and comes off as a cry baby.

geez..the media certainly dislike us, hardly a highlight to be found on the rundown tonight, not even a word on Corey's impressive 1st half in his 250th and the subsequent injury he sustained

Be good to see a few of the goals at least
I love the avatar. I wish he had've done it the way I'm sure he would've loved to have done it.

oh dear, this thread is kind of like that one from last year suggesting they wanted Chapman out of the side heading into last years finals series.

People seem to think we need a full midfield of flashy brilliant Dangerfield's but Corey's a clearance/contested ball winning champion and his greatest asset is his ability to run like Robert Harvey of old.
His loss will be felt this weekend against Hawthorn and it's a shame other supporters fail to see what he does every single week despite his poor disposal efficiency or lack of goals these days.

Love Smithy. And he has been a sacrificial lamb here along with Chappy. But hitting targets is so important these days it's a reasonable criticism to make.

not when he's giving off most of the stoppage handballs and finding the footy when others are hurting from running all day long.
Until we find a bloke who can give us as many contested possies and clearances, he's going to cop criticism because others want him to be exactly like Pendlebury, Dangerfield, Selwood, Ablett or Hayes.

But your point is fair enough and maybe the coach had a good word to him on this side of his game when he first came to the club as he mentioned how hard Corey has been working this season behind the scenes trying to correct this side of his game.
Seems as though the hard work is starting to pay off over the last month and a shame he suffered injury as it may take him another two weeks to find that form again once he does return in 2 or so weeks.

I started the thread, when he was struggling for form and looked like he was on the way downn with form. Lots agreed and could see my point. The last 3 weeks, I have never been happier to be wrong. Thats footy though, a week is a long time, and champions make fools like me look silly from time to time! But, I was right when I wrote it, and I am so glad I am now wrong and it looks like he has found some form! Hopefully the injury doesnt keep him out for too long.

yeh good points mate and you have at least been true to your word and mentioned him over the past few weeks when he has started to turn his form around as some other posters get jealous of their improvement because they may feel as though their earlier comments begin to make em look foolish like a certain couple of other notable members in here who hang shit on our club :p

But you had every reason to post the thread as he was hanging precariously on the edge of being dropped and now we are seeing the likes of Sheringham, Guthrie and Christensen really look to no.11 as an example and it's the champions like he along with Chappy, Scarlett and Enright who are fast forwarding the development of the youngsters which is going to have us right back amongst the very top when the oldies do retire.

Fantastic time for them to learn as much as possible while Corey still has a good year left in him:thumbsu:

You will be hard pressed to actually find a Geelong supporter who find a players good form a hinderance due to what they may have said on bigfooty. Most dont care and are happy to be proven wrong... i.e myself. I thought he was playing shit and said it. Now he isn't. Awesome! Happy to be proven wrong, and I can guarantee it wont be the last time. In fact, I would be happy to say every one of our players should be dropped if it were to magically make them better.

Hawkins you suck. Drop him for Playfair.

Which posters are those? I haven't noticed anyone bagging Corey in the last few weeks. I think the majority of the criticism has been fair and warranted up until the point he turned it around, at which point nearly everyone to a man (or woman) crossed himself (or herself) to give thanks for Reg's er Corey's return to form.

Which posters are those?

go back and the read the thread from page 1 ;)

I think you'll find quite a few either asking for him to retire in dignity or a few others suggesting he still has a role in the team.
