When Jonathan Hay played his 100th game against Freo last year he said how he was spewin bout not being picked up by Freo since most of his mates were training with Freo and most important of all he was a Fremantle supporter.

Does this mean the Dockers have a chance for Jonathan Hay??

He signed an extension to his contract but there is a provision for him to back out of he wants to return to WA, I can't which year in the contract which allows him to do that. 2004 or 2005.

Providing that ur keep ur salary cap controlled and provided that Freo is an added attraction.eg. potential to be a finals contender can u guys snare Hay????????????

What do we give up for him though?
Croad and our first round pick maybe.

Surely Hawthorn wouldnt take Croad back? Especially considering the way he's been playing?

I know that Hay hasnt exactly been setting the world on fire recently but he's worth a lot more than Croad - although your first round draft pick on top of that might entice them

I'd rather not go for Hay. He's done nothing since 2001. Last thing we need is to take a risk on a player. Since 2002, Croad's form has been better than Hay's. Even some Hawk supporters have said they might have traded the wrong player.

And it would create more cap pressure. I'd rather concentrate on developing McPharlin/ Polak/ Woods/ Haddrill/ Grover/ Hayden into very good defenders.

Dockers are a waste of money, time and infrastructure, why divide WA football when you have an established and successful team of the 90's?? The Dockers are only there to add some spice but since 1995 the only thing they've added is a wooden spoon to the shame of WA football, nothing but shame.

I'm feeling a bit militant today.

So you come to our board with that signature hey...

Why don't you go f*ck yourself. Have a nice day :D

This is a story I heard from someone in the know.

Luke Toia to West Coast- WCE wanna bolster there midfield again
C Judd - to Hawthorn
J Hay - to Freo

All parties are very happy

Can't we organise a straight swap, Toia for Judd?

Dockers did mention that , but since Judd & Hay are both homesick all 3 teams get the best of everything.

Leave Jonathon Hay alone. He's not going anywhere. He's happy at Hawthorn so leave him alone please.

Luke Toia will be coming to Hawthorn, Jonathon Hay will be staying at Hawthorn, Mark Williams will go to Freo in a swap for Luke Toia.

Judd for Toia. BigFooty is a wonderous place.

Sorry Suzi, I don't think we'll be at the trading table with Luke. Couldn't even get a sack of spuds in exchange last year at the table. Yes, he will be out of contract then, and his contract this year would have been a deterrent to interest, but I don't believe the interest will be there.

Mark Williams, good Freo boy, hard to make space for him up forward, though.

No ones hasseling him suzi, its merely a discussion on if we want him and if we can get him.
Again dont tell people on this board what to do

I read that Luke Toia earns 250,000 a year

Is he earning his chips??

Is hay homesick at all? Will he do a Daniel Chick and return to WA?????////

Chick was happy at the Hawks(7) but eventually he got hit by the homeisckness bug too.

No he isn't because he isn't being played.

Not anymore. We have brought his brother Leigh and his family over to live in Victoria

I'd rather not go after Hay. He will come at a hefty price and we aren't in desperate need of a key position defender. Our defence works well as a unit and I'd be more focused on developing the likes of Haddrill, McPharlin, Woods and Hayden into quality defenders.

However, I wouldn't mind if we were able to lure one Mark Couglan back to WA... A tough, skilful, quick midfielder with a relentless attack on the footy is just the player we're after.

Hay is on the record as saying he is very happy in Melbourne and wants to play his entire career here. His brother and family have also moved over.

As for suggestions that we traded the wrong guy - that's funny! All-Australian full-back who has already towelled Fevola and Hall this year, or Trent Croad, with the imposing record of 4 games, 4 goals, 9 free kicks against and beaten by Trent Carroll.

Sabre- there was a reason we got rid of Croad in the first place, we won't be getting him back, nor do we want him.

Croad struggled in one game against WC, and to an extent against Richmond but the conditions were dreadful for a FF that day. And both games our midfielders were carved up so it would have been hard for him to have an impact.

Are you suggesting that Hay has been good this year? Since his All Australian year 2 years ago, he has been struggling for form. And early on this season, was getting comprehensively beaten.
