How is Josh going? Is he close to getting a senior selection? Considering you guys have only played 24 senior players this year it looks dubious at best.

This is nothing to do with dream team but he originally was drafted from the Glenelg Football Club and I was curious as to how he is progressing in his second year at the club.

Thanks in advance,

You have to feel a bit for him. He is going to need a major injury problem to hit the Swans - or a massive form downturn - to get a senior game any time soon.

He was injured pre-season (recovering from groin problems carried over from last year) and I've seen him play some pretty good football in the reserves this year but I think he's injured at the moment.

Even if he does get back on the ground soon and strings together consistent performances, he's competing with Schmidt, Moore, Dempster (a bit taller than the rest but still capable of playing as a midfielder), Bevan, Malceski (now that he's injured and going to have to win back his senior spot) at the very least. Spriggs too, could stake a claim for a senior Swans midfield spot.

He's probably behind all of those on current and/or exposed form.

This is actually his third season on the Swans list and you have to wonder whether he'll get another. I don't think its so much a talent / performance issue as just a problem with opportunities arising. Whether he stays next year will also depend on the attitudes of Schmidt, Malceski and Moore to not getting regular (or any!) senior football.

Cool, thanks for that Liz
