Natural midfielder played as a defender by the Eagles. Fell out of favour after his was crucified by the tribunal for a lovetap on a Melbourne player. Cheers to Gary Lyon. Was named emergency for about the last 10 weeks but couldnt break back in. I think Woosha likes him so we will probably hold onto him but could be used as a trade sweetener if need be and if other clubs were interested.

Go to Delisting for 2005, I said that he is getting the flick with Humm and Carroll. Before I said that Collica and Munro already were gone, and that happened.

We will hold you to your word Mr Logan.

Buddha Hocking rates him very highly as a midfielder. I would be very suprised to see him delisted and I doubt that it will happen. As Coasting has said, a midfielder played out of position. Would be happy to hang onto him.

not particularly fussed on what we do with him.

Not a bad footballer is his own right, but nothing more than a fill in spare bits player in the world of the AFL. Best position is definetaly on the wing IMO.

that's my thinking too. He's a top guy but i don't think he adds a lot to our list and i can't really see him forcing his way into the team next year. I mean if he couldn't get a game on the back of his efforts at East Freo towards the end of the season, i don't see much hope for next year. If he stayed on, i see his career going much the same as what happened to Collica. Hopefully he can get a trade to another club where he can get a bit more of a look in. Maybe for a fourth rounder that we can pick up a local with or even promote Edwards.

Slow, soft, and a bad decision maker. I'd be happy to see him delisted or traded.

He may be a bad decision maker at times but I think that is largely because he is played out of position, and out of his comfort zone, at AFL level. Don't know where you got the idea that he is soft, his bump on Jeff White last year was a thing of beauty. He is only slow when compared to the rest of our midfielders but if we are getting Stenglein I can understand the coaching staff wanting to weed out some of the slower players we have. The thing that works against him is that I don't think he has the endurance levels to play midfield at AFL level (hence the lovetap). Still, if he is primarily a midfielder then he is surplus to requirements and with the amount of young talent coming through I wouldn't be surprised to see Woosha clear the decks a bit.

I would be very suprised. In a draft that is supposedly thin, for every player you delisted, you would have to go deeper into the draft. Getting rid of someone like Green for someone like Munro would be stupid.

Don't know what matches you've been watching for the last two seasons, but he is undeniably soft. I've seen him shirk many a contest.

No, he's slow for an AFL footballer. Takes too long to get a kick or handball in. it's like he's in slow motion or something.

I think we should hang on to him, unless we use him in a trade package.

He won't be used on the wing or in the midfield, Chick is a testament to that... but I think he can find a spot for himself on a half back flank.

The Crows are pumping him up big time (who could blame them really) but Stenglein has never provided much forward of the ball. In fact if we got him wouldnt surprise me too see him play alot on a HBF. Not sure why we should break the bank to get him, take our chances with trying to manipulate the PSD. And if we cant get him lets develop our own stoppers from Selwood, Nicoski, Morton etc

hahahahahahahaha, first of all, judd is our most accurate, along side wirrpunda. secondly, fletcher would be one of our more innacurate kicks.

I must admit to being suprised that we would go after a midfielder in the first place. I also think that the idea of chasing out of contract West Australians just because they want to come home is a bad idea. We should be going for the best available and I don't think that Stenglein fits that category. Out of our current midfield of Judd, Kerr, Fletcher, Cousins, Braun, Waters and Butler, who do you not play so that Stenglein does. If you send Waters or Butler back into WAFL ranks you are wasting their talents and stunting their growth potential.

I just hope it turns out to be like the Callum Burgess beat up last year. Nothing more than media hype.

Anyway back to the topic. Given that Green is outstanding at WAFL level in the midfield, I would think it worth giving him a shot at showing his potential in that position. I doubt that we would get value for him by placing him on the trade table as at the moment he would only attract a 3rd or 4th round pick, where I think he is worth more than that. If we can't accomodate a player who dominates at WAFL level in our midfield then where would Stenglein fit.

Don't know why you guys want Stenglein either. He doesn't add much to what you already have.

Whitnall on the other hand :)
