First of all its great to see the young Blues finding their feet. I dont think there is any doubts that the improvement you've experienced so far in 08 is set to continue.. to who know where. However I'm interested in your thoughts on Josh Kennedy. As a club West Coast has not ever had a true Center Half Forward, and yet the boy is showing every signs of becoming just that. Also looks like a popular kid judging on your sides reaction to him after the game. Early days yet but whats the general feel around Carlton for him ?

Good luck going forward..

i think the general feeling is we'd like him back am more than happy with Judd....

Hope he turns out to be a star either at west coast or carlton and just enjoy's his footy...

his face after the game should make the carlton staff think about how they trade next time:rolleyes:

Rate JK highly as a CHF. His strength is his reach, strong marking, physical presence, endurance, and good skills. Weakness is mainly a lack of versatility i.e. he is a pure CHF, and struggles if moved into the defensive half, and not so good at the centre bounce. His initial speed off the mark ain't crash hot either, but gains good speed once he gets going, so he needs a lot of space to lead into. While I'd still like him at Carlton, Judd and Kruezer add a lot more. :)

What Ive always said about Josh Kennedy since writing up draft profiles for him is that he just really has a go, a bit like matthew richardson he plays with passion and makes a contest when ever possible. With the above average talent he has this will make sure that he gets the best out of his talents and will end up being a very handy player to have in your forward line.

I'll take a guess and say that Carlton probably would have got Judd for draft picks 1 and 3...

Would Carlton prefer Kreuzer with pick 1 (& Armitage if you rate him)

or Kennedy and pick 20 (say Scott Selwood or Maric (we drafted Notte))

Obviously way too early to get a definitive answer but interesting nevertheless...

i think kennedy always been a good player, glad he seems to be doing well at his new club

You mean you always thought he would become a good player, cause he certainly hasn't always been a good player. :)

I have always rated JK and wish him all the best, I was shattered to lose him but what could you do if he was the bargaining chip for Judd. I would love him back but you cant have your cake and eat it too.

He lacked confidence (injuries didnt help) at the Blues but his endeavour was fantastic especially his second efforts. Always seemed to like to take diving marks - maybe because our kicks kept dropping short??? I honestly reckon he will develop into a class act and wish him all the best.

Josh Kennedy tells us alot about our devolpment department. In 2 years Kennedy showed nothing had potential in the foward line. Yet we decided to play him second ruck. I know this was forced upon us but this probably killed his confidence and never learnt the basics of being a CHF.

While spending one pre-season at West Coast he has already shown he can become an elite CHF.

We'd love Joshy back for sentimental reasons, but if you're not prepared to part with him we'll gladly take Brown or McKinley -sure you can't fit all 3 of them inside your forward 50 alongside Lynch! :D

he done ok considering he had bad luck with injuries. he would have to be a good player to play afl. if you aint a good player you don't get selected at the top level.

Think Kennedy has the potential to be a really good player. I was one who felt we should have kept him. The main reason I wanted him kept though was for his attitude. We had a few players who WC may have looked at but who in my opinion didn't have Josh's committment and passion.

Still believe that Carlton lack quality in this area and believe he will be a great motivating energy in the Eagles side. One that we still badly need. Having said this Kruezer also looks to have a great attitude so I would not have wanted to lose him. Just feel there were other options.

I was thinking the same thing. Play him where he should be played, and he delivers. Although, I thought his round 22 game last year vs Melbourne was pretty good.

Was having that same discussion with David Gallagher and Lindsay Smith just the other day.
