Just wondering about the big fella...

Should he be your 'prime' target up forward or be merely the 2nd/3rd tall?

I think he'd be much better with some decent support - Mackie offers something long term, but what about for now?

I'd definitely fish around for Croad, Richo or Rawlings.

Is he struggling with form or being asked to shoulder to much by Thompson?

He'd be better if Mooney was playing well, which he did on the weekend and there was also a FF[i.e a Richo,Lloyd,Lynch type player].He's more of a 3rd tall forward.

I don't think Mackie would be the answer as a KPP.He's more of a tall onballer.

As Jubs said, Mackie is a midfielder, so unfortunately he won't be the one to fill the hole.

Kingsley is much better as a second or third tall, no doubt. He doesn't have the strength (or the inclination) to go one on one with the better fullbacks.

Kent is an opportunist in a big man's body, thus all he needs to get his 3-4 goals is someone providing a true contest.

Gumby is the only player on our list who can do that for Kent, problem is, he's far too inconsistent.

He's been asked to play a role which doesn't suit him. As has previously been mentioned, Kingsley is much better suited to a 2nd or 3rd forward option, and definitely not key position.

I'd like to think that H and Tom Lonergan came both make a big impact in season 2004, although both are still pretty raw.

But to be honest, we don't have "the answer".

We are hoping that either Blake or Ablett will be the answer in the coming years though.
Blake is a top 5 talent, whilst Nath is all quality and is 193cm and still growing.

There is hope.

And until these young guys develop, we'll probably try to get someone like Croad or Lucas via trade to carry the load.
