One of the funniest things about living in Korea is the Konglish you encounter walking down the streets, whether it be on restaurant windows or even people's t-shirts.

Konglish is the Korean interpretations of English, which don't always quite work out! Konglish is not just limited to Korea however, friends have told me of similar phenomena in China, Japan and Taiwan.

Have a look at Engrish.com for a few chuckles, although it's mainly Japanese content, the situation's much the same in Korea and can be very amusing at times. Particularly some of the Konglish T-shirts some students wear, there's a girl in one of my classes who always wears a T-shirt proudly proclaiming: "Pretty girls ... nice and easy", I'm almost certain there's a seedy Westerner lurking somewhere in Asia getting his kicks out of making such t-shirt slogans!

Funny all the same though! :p

Anyone else got any funny Engrish encounters from their travels overseas?

In the a hotel in Russia when it was still the Soviet Union there was a sign that said, "If this is your first visit to the Soviet Union you are welcome to it.":D
